Default Dash Creak

Lately I have been having this creaking/squeaking sound coming from my dash on my 2010 XB. It sounds like it is coming from the gauge cluster area. Is this the A-pillar creak? If so I thought they resolved that issue already.

It's a TSB that you can get serviced if you'd like. Supposedly the dealership needs to rip apart the entire car in order to fix it.

That sound is pretty great, but wait til you get the one in the b-pillar. That one's my favorite.

I thought the TSB doesn't apply to for the 2009 & 2010 models.

The noise I am hearing is actually more of a rattle and it really sounds like it is coming from behind the gauge cluster or the radio/ac vent area.

It could be a wire connector moving around? Do you have an aftermarket HU?

I know you've got some free time on your hands, so how about pulling the stereo and taking a look-see behind it; maybe somethings loose back there.

Nope, stock HU.

Thats what I ended up doing earlier. I believe it has to do with the a/c vents. The Black inner part is connected to the painted silver part by a few clips, this seems to allow the black inner part to rattle just a little. I "fixed" the problem with a few dabs of super glue, so far the sound appears to be gone, but I will know for sure in a few days.

I hear the ac vent rattle and the door handle rattle randomly. Not a big deal, because its really a budget ride and not gonna be like a camry, accord or Sonata. My 07 Sonata, at 72k miles is very quiet.

Having the same concern too. Is the noise your having a ticking, rattle noise on top of the windshield if it is, I think there is a TSB out for it regarding upper windshield tick noise. Gonna go to the dealer to see if I can get it repaired.

I have noticed the same thing on my 2008. Sounds like its right behind the cluster. But I have also noticed mine seems to be related to temperature. Seems like when its around 40 degrees it does it. I am assuming this is related to the expansion/contraction of some plastic piece. Drives me nuts.
