Finally got one

Just picked it up tonight. Blackberry, stick (I see what you guys were saying now, but it's not too bad), premium stereo (for now). Pretty basic, for now. Loving it though!

are you talking about the clutch? is it bad? i know there is a way to fix that.

Govt_Man 08-01-2007 07:27 PM

For me, it's not bad, it's just different. It sits very high, but engages low (in my opinion). My truck had a long clutch. I don't know if I can explain....

In my truck, it was very easy to down shift, as the clutch traveled a long distance, and would the degree it remained engaged for would depend on it's position. In other words, 3/4 of the way up, it was still 1/4 or so engaged, making down shifting very smooth. In the xB2, the period of engagement, for me, is not the whole length that the clutch pedal will travel. It seems you can push it in about 1/4 or so of the way, and it is not yet engaged. It's short, in my opinion. When I down shift in it, it's not as smooth, as I expect a longer travel. It sits very high, but engages very low.

Don't know if that really makes much sense.

congrats

yes i know exactly what you are talking about.. i explained it as beeing a "deep" clutch. I'm not sure if thats something you can ajust.. and so i got the automatic.. lol but.. it is a weird clutch. It would only make sense that its something that can be ajusted. My girlfriend doesnt have long enough legs to drive the 5speed because of the clutch being so "deep"

I still like it though. It's just taking some getting used to. Day two and I've almost got it down.
