Hello Guys/Gals!! Guess Who's back!!
What's up guys, haven't been on here in about two years. It's been a long two years...so how about a recap?
2011, I finally got my base model 09 xB to a point that I was happy with...

Then at near the summer of 2011, found out I was deploying, so I didn't want to leave my wife with a car that she couldn't drive (5spd),
so I traded my 09 xB for a 05 G35 sedan with an automatic transmission
. Which I promptly slammed before going Overseas....

Went Overseas and did my thing for a while....

Got home and bought an 1986 S12 200SX on a whim that had a KA24DE which needed some work...

Put a few hundred in the S12, then flipped it, made a profit, got sick of driving an automatic car (G35), so I went and traded it in for a brand new 2012 Focus SE
hatchback with sport package (5spd, ST seats, rear disc brakes, leather wrapped steering wheel, SYNC and Sirius package, alloy wheels and fog lights)...

And turned it into this...

Then in March, we were blessed with this little guy...

Big brother watching over...

So now I have a car that I love, drives awesome, and about to throw some serious money into it (new coilover system, race header, SCT tune, etc...) but it is too small for two boys in the back with my 6'8" butt driving.
Long story short, the Focus is the worst depreciating car I've ever had...Sticker price for mine was just over $21 with options I ordered...It is a year and 1 month old and has 9500 miles on, still very new-ish. Its average value via black book/KBB/Nada is approx. $12500 !!!
So off I go in search of a new car with a roomier interior for the boys and I keep going back to the xB...Go to the same Toyota dealer I went to when I bought my first xB. Again, I'm 6'8'' so the manager instantly recognizes me.
After about an hour, they give me $14k+ for my car, add military discount, labor day sale (no payments til Dec.), a little money down, my monthly payment goes up a whopping $10/month and I'm the proud new owner of a.....
2013 xB 5spd, silver in color, with new touchscreen Pioneer headunit (I heard all post-August xB's have this), rear spoiler, fog lights, Toyota maintenance program (free oil changes for 2 years woohoo!),
and a car I can fit my whole family in and modify for cheaper than the Focus was. Only downside, is I don't have any pics yet because it's still getting shipped to the dealer, should be there tomorrow!!
I already sold all of the parts off of my Focus, so I at least have enough for some coilovers, exhaust, and maybe HIDs. I found my old Fujita CAI that I had on my old xB that I never managed to sell so that's a plus.
Sorry to bore you with the long story, but it's good to be back, hopefully I'll catch up with some of the old faces on here, and to all the people that came on here after I left, hello to you all!!

Well I got her home and tucked away in the garage. No pics yet, they will come soon enough. I have to take it back to the dealer next week for them to install the fog lights. I also have 2 questions to ask...
1. The xB came with pin stripes. I didn't want them, the build sheet that I was shown didn't display them. I was going to start taking them off, but they don't seem to be vinyl. They seem to be painted on...Any idea's on how to get them off easily??
2. The build sheet I got from the salesman when they found my xB had the 6.1'' Touchscreen audio system listed on it. I get the xB at the dealer yesterday and guess what? No touchscreen, just the regular ole' Pioneer system. I told my salesman, he goes and talks to the manager, and they tell me "tough cookies". And now they won't add it...Is there anything I can do? I still have a copy of the original invoice/build sheet with matching VIN # to my xB and it clearly states 6.1'' Touchscreen. What should my next course of action be?
Other than that, I'm falling in love with the xB all over again. Already looking to get a set of BC Coilovers before the month is out...

1) Dealer added extras. If its painted I would just leave it.
2) If you paid for the sticker price and it did include on the sheet then it belongs to you. Now if they gave you a discount then pretty much out of luck. You can try contacting corporate and see if anything happens.

I agree with contracting Scion directly. Kind of ridiculous. I would have told them that I didn't even want the car then.
As far as the pinstripe, I'd ask the dealer too. It may be able to be simply buffed off.

First of all, congrats on the baby and on the new car
quick question - was the vin # on the build sheet the same as the vin # on the car they gave you? just wondering.
1st off, here is the blog post on the Scion site that says all xb's in production after august 15 will have the touch screen head unit --
http://www.scion.com/blog/2013/08/15...or-all-models/
I have had similar issues like this before but not with cars. I suggest you contact Scion corporate and persist with the dealer and force them into giving you the touch screen radio.
Companies (especially car dealers) in general will do crap like this thinking the customer won't notice so it's good that you were familiar with the model already. But once the dealer ship has the money, and you have the car, they suddenly get really "lazy" about fixing anything that was wrong with the car since they already have your $.
My 2013 xb had a very minor scratch on the drivers door sill and I told the dealer about it before I paid for it. They told me to pay for the car now and to bring back the car later so they could fix it and i said HELL NO. I kept my bank check in hand and forced them to fix it on the spot. They drove the car to a auto body shop and paid for them to fix it and the car was back within the hour with the scratch removed. Only then did I sit with the salesman and finish the paper work / hand over the $.
There is a Scion employee (Albert) on this forum that checks in from time to time so it would be nice to hear from him. But definitely call corporate and keep in contact with the dealership on a daily basis if need be.
What you experienced is a bait and switch which is illegal. The # for Scion is 1.866.70.SCION . Call the BBB in your state while you're at it as well.

Yeah, Vin on the build sheet matches to my car. I don't know exactly when my car was made either. I'll try and give Scion a call...

Thanks midtowndesi! If you haven't done so EMAN44 give Scion HQ a call. We're open Monday through Friday 5 AM - 6PM PST, SAT 7-4. We can definitely open a case file on your behalf and make the dealer aware of the concern. Sales concern's can make it tough for Scion Corporate to get involved but we can certainly be an advocate for you and let the dealership know formally. ^AP

So here is an update...
After I called Scion, I received a call from customer service at the dealer. I told her that I was happy with everything except the issue with the radio. The next day I receive a phone call from the new car manager at the dealer and he
tells me that he sees the problem between the build sheet and my car and that he if going to be pushing the issue upwards to "district". He tells me that he cannot promise me anything, but that he'll do his best to make it right. We shall see....
Anyways, here are some pics...When I first saw her at the dealer and next to my old car...

I then took it back to the dealer on Monday for the fog lights to be installed, and while I was there I got the "proper" emblems for it
and also took the xB off the rear...

And the reason I went back to the xB...the front two seats are all the way back,
and I still have plenty of room of a forward facing seat and rear facing carrier.

@emannuel - looks so nice and clean in silver! i almost mistook it for a Release 2013 Series ;)
@ gs_aristo -- off of a Toyota Sienna minivan.
Tons of details here -- https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=200975 .
After seeing the emblem on Emannuel's car above, i now want the same emblem on my ride... I would plasti-dip it in black though to stick with the black/white theme on my ride.
I actually called a local dealership earlier today but they did not have the emblem in stock =/

Quick update...haven't heard anything back yet from the dealer in reference to the headunit. I'll give them a call tomorrow. I'll also be taking my xB to a trusted local paint shop to see if they can take off the god awful pinstriping.
I also have a question for you guys...Which of these wheel options do you like?
Option #1

Option #2

I'm trying to pick up one of these cheap 16'' wheels to go along with my OEM tires while they are still fresh. These will just be for daily driving and/or long road trips with the family. I do plan on getting a set of aggressive 18'' wheels in the future, I just need something to replace the ugly hubcaps.
Thoughts?
