new drop plus rockblockers

Just got the TRD lowering springs installed today. I'm really pleased with how it looks. I also haven't shown pics of my car with the blue tint rockblockers yet so I thought this would be a good opportunity.

Here's my black one parked behind my wifes. Hers is bone stock so you can see the difference.

Stock suspension rear wheel.

With 18" rims and TRD springs (hasn't settled in yet, might be about 1/2" lower eventually)

Here are the blue Rockblockers. Not the best picture but it looks really nice and way better then stock headlights.

I am curious, how does it ride with just the springs installed?
Does it make it rougher, same, better????

lardo5150 08-22-2007 12:20 AM

almost forgot, what did the dealer charge to install them (if you dont mind)

Whispaz 08-22-2007 12:23 AM

looks niiice. lovin the rockblocker

trhashmetal 08-22-2007 01:02 AM

Hi, yes how much cost the springs and the installation?, mine in Puerto Rico was $250 for the springs and the installation $160 on the dealer.

The ride is pretty much the same with these springs. I haven't really gone fast around corners though, so that might feel a little tighter.

Springs were $210 from trdsparks.com

Install was $300 at a local shop. My dealer wanted to charge $600.00 to install!!

lardo5150 08-22-2007 01:22 AM

thanks man for the info.

SimpleNature 08-22-2007 03:10 AM

Puf... Did you do just the rear springs? Which order number did you install?

pufbox 08-22-2007 03:33 AM

All 4. I think he started with the first and ended with the last one.

Looks real good. I'm up in the air about it. It's already pretty low (as far as the size of the vehicle vs. barely clearing curbs) But this morning I noticed major body roll and that scared the hell out of me cause i'm not all that use to it.

clari0n 08-22-2007 04:17 PM

What kind of rims are those? They're awesome, almost exactly what I'm looking for.

On the new xB's, they are SIMPLE to do the springs.

Seriously, like a few bolts.

You should've got a few buddies and did it yourself for a little
home project. Maybe an install meet.

But besides that, loving that blue rockblocker overlay
on your ride. And the rims make it look even cleaner!

clari0n 08-22-2007 06:22 PM

Thanks, dude! I'll definitely have to look into that!

ExcelRevs 08-23-2007 05:29 AM

It's looking real sic!! Did you get any kind of deal since you and your wife both bought xB2's??

timmer357 08-23-2007 05:53 AM

You guys are having to pay for install?

My dealer quoted me the $250 for parts, labor, AND alignment. They claim that is the word from the pacific northwest rep in Seattle...so that is what I paid for everything. That is how everyone Scion part is at my dealer...what the price is online is the price installed with the parts. :P

For body roll you probably want the sway bar. The springs and larger wheels will stiffen things up a little.

Dude, you got a deal! Here is the disclaimer on the SCION "Build your Scion" site under the springs:

*MSRP only, excludes tax. Installation not included. Pricing may vary by dealer. TRD USA, Inc. (Toyota Racing and Development), an aftermarket performance parts company, markets a line of parts through some Scion dealers. These aftermarket parts are not Genuine Scion parts, and cannot be utilized for Scion warranty replacement. TRD parts are warranted by TRD, not Scion. See the TRD warranty for detail. Note that certain aftermarket equipment may not be street legal in all states and may impact your vehicle's performance or safety.

What are those rims called? I like the simple look, but the only place I've seen them is Sparks. The shipping from Sparks to HI is too much for me. I want to find them somewhere else...
