New Here... 2014 Xb Ext. Colors??
Great forum....have been here a few times without registering to look around. Bought our daughter a new 2010 scion xb a couple years back....great vehicle.
My wife wants to get an xb for herself once the 2014 models roll out and she totally wants one in the Hot Lava color. Anyone know if it will be offered in that color....or if you can order it in Hot Lava??
Thanks for any help!!!

It was stated last year that the xD and xB were to be discontinued this year, then a few months ago they released 2 new/old colors for the xB in 2013. Naughtical Blue Metalic from 2008 and Absolute Red from the 2009 RS. You won't be able to order the Hot Lava from the dealer.
if you are lucky, take a look at autotrader.com or cars.com - some dealers still have brand new rs9 models (the hot lava color you like) in stock (or at least these websites say so). you can probably pick one of those up if you dont mind getting a 2012 model over the 2013.
and what was said above is right - the 2013 is the last model year for the xb. according to some articles online, scion will give us a hint to what the 2014 model will look like at the 2013 auto show in new york at the end of march. lets see what happens.

it's amazing how the 2013 xb has been at dealerships for the past month or so and scion still hasn't updated the website... this model should have been at dealers last fall! they are like a year late and it's very frustrating since i'm in the market for one and simply sitting on the sideline waiting for an update...

straight from the horses mouth (whatever that means)

xB: Scion executives give mixed signals about the boxy car that is a brand icon. They say it is important, but also that the box has run its course and is likely to be replaced by something much different. There has been talk of reconfiguring the boxy, 100-inch wheelbase Daihatsu COO/Materia, which is closer in size and design to the original xB that defined the Scion brand.
Scion has said the 2013 New York auto show will offer an idea as to the successor. The problem: The xB will be 6 years old by then and should have been replaced by now.

Looking back, when Scion was formed, they said that they would be more receptive and reactive to changing consumer tastes. So I think their move to 'toss out' the XB simply means that they are going to maybe even remove the name but make another vehicle that is along the same lines of previous xB models.
Since they have pretty much gone into production with most of the concept cars (t2b, the frs, the new tc, etc), i think they may release something along the lines of the HAKO - but that's just a shot in the dark on my part based on nothing other than their previous redesigns.

There is no information and no announcements have been made in regards to the 2014 xB. We recommend checking http://www.scion.com/news/ periodically for the latest updates on any of our Scion models. ^AP
2014 will be 10 years for the xB so I was thinking they'd do some kind of special edition commemorating the anniversary. A RS series that brought back some of the styling from the 1st gen would be awesome!
