I want to thank you and remark "Swwwweeeeeeet!"
It's beautiful to see the above picture with the silver and gold together. I have silver!
I can almost hear Burl Ives singing. Old people like me will get that.
Once again

Hello all,
Just drove my new car home from Mass. yesterday. My last three vehicles were Toyota trucks. Needless to say, feels good to be driving a sporty car again. Some nice get up and go. I've been impressed with the handling as well.
So the release # is 1497, and it is a manual tranny. Only the second one in New England supposedly.
I purchased an XB with consideration of cargo space to fuel economy. I didn't find anything with the space the XB has, short of a pickup truck or minivan.
The only upgrade I got was to the premium Head Unit, and glad I did.
I was skeptical of the color for awhile, but it is growing on me. Excuse me sir, do you have any Grey Poupon? My vehicles have never been attention getters. Although, the color is good for visual safety. Other drivers will be less likely to not see me. The selling factor for the car was the sunroof, I have wanted one for a very long time. Much prefer to have a factory installed unit then a custom installation.
First purchase for the box--Colgan T-bra. I am worried about the paint reliability. There were already two minor scratches in the paint when I picked it up, and unfortunately the dealership was not able to buff them out.
Mods?
I am looking for classy mods vs. aggressive or gangster for this vehicle. I did not purchase a wing, and am second guessing that decision now. I wanted to keep the initial cost price down, and new that I would be adding on later as the money comes in.
Figuring out new rims has been difficult. Originally, I immediately factored out chrome. I've looked at black, bronze, and black chrome (hyperblack). Most of the rims are spoke style performance rims, which the majority of the Scions are running. So, I started looking at more full-faced rims something like Center Lines. But CLs do not come in any other color then chrome or polished alloy and are not easy to fit. Soooo, I started looking at anodizing or powder coating, but leaning toward possibly anodizing. I am looking at circular cut outs to balance the straight lines of the XB. This car reminds me of the old chop top roadsters (except boxy).
However, I found a nice custom billet rim that I really like, but it is polished. And now that I physically have the vehicle, the gold is deep enough that a polished rim might work. But I don't know for sure. Haven't seen many pics of RS 5's with polished rims. And then there is all of the black accents on the exterior, and replacing that with chrome definitely wouldn't look good. Aargh!
Here is a good poll question: What color rims do you have for your RS 5? Black, bronze, chrome, polished, hyperblack or hypersilver, two-tone, or other.
Mods I want:
Foglights
Rear sway bar
Front strut bar
Any engine mod which gives better gas mileage. I haven't found anything concrete regarding CAI mods and better MPG.
Window Tint
Window deflectors
Amps, better fidelity door speaks, and most likely Rumion C Pillar subwoofer, wish they made one for the passenger side as well.
Short shifter
Rims
Grills
Custom vents to replace black stickers on body kit.
My only complaints for this car are:
The arm rest and door arm rest should be equal height, what's up with that?!
Larger fifth gear to reduce rpm at cruising speeds.
Black vinyl tape on body kit, What's up with that?! Scion, spend a few more bucks and put vents in. There in the base model. Makes no sense and looks cheap.
The amount of gold interior accents are a bit garish.
Well sorry for the long winded post, but this has been building up for the two weeks I've been waiting to pick up my ride. Lots of distracted time reading all of the threads and researching mods. I look forward to posting pics when I get a few mods done.
I would be curious to hear about rim suggestions. I want the wheels to be unique, or I would simply go with some 5 or 6 spoke style. BTW--the roads in Maine are ROUGH! The largest I am considering would be 17's, without detriment to the ride quality.
Anybody anodized their wheels?
BTW--Great website! I've found a lot of information here. Glad to be apart of the cult now.
