In looking at the picture, I noticed that it has four wheel disc brakes. You all may have said it, but WOW I didn't know. Also those wheels doesn't look like it does the body any justice. I look like 20's can fill the wheel well. Thanks for the picks dude. Did you get to try out the sound system?

^^^LOL....Kind of my thoughts...Why are there no pricing estimates yet? We can all guess for now...I'm betting at least $16,500 base

They're going to try something new instead of Pure Pricing. It's called "Surprise Pricing." 3-4 weeks after you take delivery of the car you'll get a bill in the mail for what you owe. The neat thing is, you can also surprise them back with how much you're gonna pay. It's new twist on the ole back and forth games.

When I was checking out the display XB, the Scion Rep was talking to a dealer. The dealer asked if they have a price yet, and I overheard that they are really close to have a final price. In the 16,800s to 17.

Even though they had the base system, it was impressive to say the least. It had good range, bass and sounded very good overall in the interior of the box. They had all the upgrades for viewing. The Navigation is crazy nice, its an Alpine, with a 6.5" Touchscreen. This will def be an upgrade that I'm going to get. I can live without the headrest monitors. The upgrade optional amps def. give it that extra thump.

I love how the bumper paint doesn't match the body.

But really, thanks for the pics and info. I want one, minus that wing.

Now that sounds like the deal I have on the 1st one that comes into town. My wife almost chit when I wrote a contract on a silver, red, or blue auto (for her) for an unknown delivery at an unknown price. :) (Thankfully, it was a refundable deposit based on our acceptance of price, color, config, and delivery date (its not like her Toyota is gonna die any time soon!)) :relief:

Here's to keeping my fingers crossed that the xBs aren't too beat up by the time they make it to the Detroit show.

My dad is a salesman down in the Toledo store and I talked to the new car manager about getting a new xB when they come in. He said he'd earmark the first one for me as soon as it comes in. Wonder if I'll end up going to the June 21st Backstage event in my xB...

If you look at most cars, the paint doesn't "match" the way we would all like. It has to do with the color of the bumper before it is painted as opposed to the sheetmetal (black VS silver or grey) If you snap a pic of YOUR xB or whatever you are driving at that angle with a flash, you'll see the same thing. At least on most silver cars I've seen, anyway. I see it on mine all the time and even pointed it out to the dealer when I took delivery of it. It is...unfortunately...something we have to deal with.

it looks like the one in your pic doesnt have any tint on the back windows. is that the case?

it's jus the flash and the metallic properties of the paint that makes it seem like it doesn't match.

same effect on the late model nissan altimas. it's just the angle and flash...

NotAllBad 04-03-2007 11:19 AM

too bad they didn't park it next to a 1st gen xB... i'd really like to see the size comparison.

I agree. Maybe somebody at the OC event can make that happen?

they're pre-production

it'll have them on the production.. along with actual door panels too... for those that saw.. yeah.. there was some flat odd looking plastic just there in that particular one.

ExcelRevs 04-08-2007 07:04 PM

Yeah, the models at the show were pre-production. They were missing the tint, the interior wasn't completely done. It was great to finally see one in person though.
