when I bought my 2008 xB I got a second remote key w/ it, but they wouldn't program it for me. the dealership wants to charge me $75 to program it to my car. I am trying to find someone that knows how to program the key so I don't get ripped off by the dealership.

hhhhhmmmmmmmm I also got 2 remote lock/unlock/panic keys with mine & they BOTH work....... If one of yours doesnt take it back.. Your warrenty ought to cover it... First, pop a new battery in it & give it a try....... good luck... jh

i know it's for the older one, but at least you'll be able to try something and see if it works

it was a special order. I bought mine used, and i worked in the 2nd key as part of the deal, but they wouldn't budge on the programming.

thanks Slody4fotbol. I'll give it a try tomorrow..

You can try brining it to a different dealership, tell them it just stopped working and see if they'll cover it under their warranty.

good idea. if these instructions don't work I'll try that. thanks.

stop being a _____, the car comes with 2 keyfobs, and if one doesnt work, make them fix it at thier cost.

It does require hooking up the ScanTool for both functions, the chip and the lock/unlock functions.

Most dealers charge, however we do not. You just need to find one that doesn't.
