I had one for 2 weeks. Its great so far. I'm only worried about the high interior car temperatures. I'll post more after lunch, thanks for reviving the thread!

I can run a group buy on the scan gauge II if anyone is interested?

Price would be about $140. Might be able to do less.

Hey Journey good post.
I seem to be having a problem with the MPH. The MPH on the UG is about 4 MPH LESS than what the Scion gauge says. (2013 tC) I did not notice a way to calibrate it. RPM is dead on!
I like the Water Temp and the Air Intake Temp. Those are so neat and I hope they are accurate.
My gauge when I get off work is about 150F where it is currently mounted. I don't plan on moving it. For $70 this is awesome and I have no regrets. I keep forgetting to do my rebate, i hope its not too late. I still read through the manual when I have leisure time, i always learn something new. I use two pages. Page 1 I use 90% of the time.
I would like to hear about any mods or special gauges I have not used yet.

Here is a pic of mine. Using a TINY strip of heavy duty 3M double side tape. (Tape is an understatement.) I can still tilt/move the steering wheel, and I can tilt forward the gauge to access the buttons easily.
The cable run behind the steering console, and wraps back up to the OBD Connector. Its about as low pro as I can get..

Wow this is nice I'll have to get it just for the temp gauge! We'll see how TX heat does to this little thing!

Yessir, The funny thing is is that its made in south Texas. I had a HKS turbo Timer installed in this exact same spot for 5 years and not a problem. Time will tell. Great gauges to choose from. I will calibrate the distance tonight and that should fix my MPH error as I stated above, the highway is pretty clear at night so I will take a few mile trip northbound with my iPhone GPS app and calibrate it.
When this busts and the warranty F's me over i'll get another HKS or a ScanGauge.

Excuse my ignorance as I did not see your mods. I'm guessing since you have a turbo timer you're turbo right?? hehe

Is that sarcasm are are you being a dick? I used the HKS on my 1st Gen tC for a reliable digital speedometer and RPM shift light. Also the 1/4 mile time and 0-60 was deathly accurate.

I think it will be fine in the heat. The unit has a survival mechanism in it. It will beep loudly once every minute when it is too hot and will not stop until it cools down(you can turn the beep off though) It will also shut down when temps are too high. I recommend you place it in an area that it is not exposed to full sun all the time(i.e. on the top of the dash)

It seems to hold up pretty well. I live in Maryland where thanks to the humidity, it is stupid hot (not a nice dry hot like you have in Texas) which bumps the temps up.

I think you will enjoy it as it is a wonderful device and i like being able to quickly glance at the thing without squinting because the display is so small (like SGII)

Dude chill out. No need for the name callings. Just finding out what you've done to the car and here to learn.

In that ScionLife thread, owners are sharing impressions of the Ultragauge digital gauge and scanner tool for Scion xB vehicles, with many commenting on its usefulness for live data, customizable dashboards, and basic code reading without needing more expensive diagnostic gear. Users highlight that tools like Ultragauge make everyday monitoring easier - displaying parameters like coolant temp, RPM, and air–fuel ratio in real time - which can help with troubleshooting or just keeping an eye on performance while driving. Some also compare it to simpler OBD2 readers, noting that the added digital gauge features make it feel more like a useful everyday accessory than a basic code reader. The overall vibe is practical: affordable diagnostics that fit the owner’s needs without unnecessary complexity. In a different area of managing automotive records and communications, checking https://comfax.com/reviews/best-online-fax-services/ can help you find a reliable online fax solution for sending important documents like service records or repair invoices securely and efficiently, without relying on traditional fax hardware.
thanks for the information!
