Uncomfortable seat height
Hey guys, does any one know if a 1st gen xb drivers seat fits a 2nd gen xb? I've tried everything I can think of. For some reason the height of the seat is giving my right leg pain and fatigue. At first I thought it was the shift console in my way, but I don't believe that's it since I put a extend my seat in the car to help this issue. Guess what? Didn't fix it at all. I've had a first gen before and the height was great. If someone could please help. Thank you so much.

Try adding some lumbar support behind your back. The 2nd gen seats are seriously lacking in it and it'll help your leg. I added some to mine when I was recovering the seats and it helped out a lot. You can try rolling up a towel behind your lower back to see if it helps.

You might be able to stack some washers up under the seat anchor bolts (I assume there are 4). You can alter the tilt this way as well. Some combination might work for you.
Might need longer bolts though. Try Ace hardware: Some (not all) of the stores have a large selection of metric bolts. Get the washers there too...

The concern with modifying the seat, its mount, or its structure is the airbag system. The curtain air bags are engineered to put the driver is a specific location range. the side air bags can fire incorrectly if the cover is modified or covered. Moving a gen 1 seat into the gen 2 can be done but your secondary restraining system will be compromised if functional at all. that being said if your not concerned about the air bags then anything is possible. I would recommend going to a reputable automotive upholstery shop and see what options they offer.
