Default Vibration in drive

My XB has a really subtle vibration while in gear but with the foot on the brake at a stop. Motor mounts were changed and transmission service was done. Nothing has changed. Fuel service was also done at the dealership. Any idea what could be causing this? The vibration is enough where you can see it in the dash. It's not violent but after a while it's annoying for sure.

Dang, you can see the vibration in the dash......if it's that bad and new mounts didn't eliminate the problem, I'd suspect one of the balance shafts has broken.

There are two balance shafts installed below the crank shaft (inside the oil pan area).

The crank shaft spins one balance shaft, this balance shaft in turn spins the second balance shaft.

Each of these balance shafts are timed relative to crankshaft position.

At one end of each of these shafts are two sections where metal has been machined off the shafts. If a shaft breaks......one of these weighted sections will not spin in time with the crankshaft.

You can remove the oil pan to inspect the balance shafts........DO NOT UNBOLT the item which secures the balance shafts because if you do, gravity will cause the shafts to drop away from the engine.

With oil pan removed, manually rotate the crank shaft and observe the balance shafts as they spin. Make sure you see the entire length of both shafts spin when the crankshaft spins.

But that would be a vibration all the time would it not? In park it completely goes away. It's not violent but you can feel it. Driving and everything is smooth.

I'm going to guess carbon build up in the IAC valve - bottom of the throttle body.

I will say that my idle speed in drive is about 700rpm...

Sorry, I was wrong about the IAC valve, that is only on the XB mk1
Spark plugs are next things to look at.

Ya I'll have them take a look at it's next checkup unless it gets worse. It's a weekend car. Luckily it doesn't get a lot of miles put on it. Bought it at 109k in mid December. Barely just about to break 110k. I learned the hard way not to let a car sit for too long in AZ, so it's driven every week regardless. I sadly killed a 90k SRT4 neon that way.

NOT quite sure what it is. I think it's fuel/air related. At this point new spark plugs. The vibration in drive starts off bad but as the car gets driven in a trip it gets better and better. Still present. I did stop taking it to a dealership at this point. They forgot to secure my intake and it popped off and stalled my car at an intersection this past summer. Not happy being in AZ. Found a WAY better place that specializes in Toyotas anyway.
