Just put H-tech, TRD struct & shock & front tower bar, Hotchkis F&R sway bars in three hours at the shop. The back was quite easy, but the front especially front sway was a bit hard, had to loose all the nuts underneat on passenger side, lucky didn't had to do both side. I did cut off the first nub of stopper. What a nice ride after all the work, will get pics tomorrow when the weather is good, hopefully!

Papo, I don't really have any opinion on cutting the springs. My friend just got the TEIN S Techs which are lower. Maybe you should start with a a lower drop first before doing any cutting?

Flawlessly,
How do you like the ride of the H-Techs and TRD shocks? Any sort of descriptions would help. I still think my stock shocks are absolutley fine but when the time comes I don't know if I should go TRD or Tokico. My bud with the S Techs is on Tokico HPs and his car rides pretty well.

rockthebeef, I didn't try HP, so can't give you any comments on that, but my setup is fine at least for me, sharp corner with no problem, like 50 mph go down the 100 degrees ramp, the car still holds pretty good balance with stock rubbers, maybe a just a little bit soft compare to HP shocks, I think the Hotchkis helps a bit too. For the daily driving, it's comfortable, just a bit harder than stock, you still can feel every bit of bump, but not much. Hope that helps!

Used my measurement tape from ground to the bottom of fender this afternoon, 35 LBS of air on the front OEM tires, 32 LBS of air on the rear OEM tires...

---= LF =------= RF =---
-= 24-15/16" =-= 25" =-

---= LR =------= RR =---
-= 26-1/4" =-= 26-1/2" =-

just a little bit off, but I think is ok.

I know Ken practically owns the NF210 thread, but honestly, the Tein H Techs are a very good alternative if someone wants to go a "tad" bit lower and have a stiffer suspension from the NFs.

I mainly swapped from the NFs because I wanted a stiffer rear spring to prevent rubbing in the back. If you want a more comfy ride and have a conservative offset then go NFs. If you want to go a tad bit lower than NFs andhave a more aggressive offset, then go H Techs.

My NFs are for sale if anyone is interested. Thanks rockthebeef for posting!

im curious as to what that means ^^^ offset? i run stock tires and wheels. and im inbetween the NFs and the H-techs. i dont need a super drop. and im doing hotkis front n rear sways. im loooking for something better for stock. i tend to take corners and ramps pretty hard. and bumps are everywhere. typically performance>>>comfort. But then again its is a DD so i dont need race ready ____ haha. that was confusing but yea.

This is my definition of offset, drop, and stance.

But seriously, if you have a 5 Axis kit, go for the Tein H Techs. If you don't have a lip kit, then go for the Tein S Techs. I like the Teins better than the Tanabes because the H Techs are stiffer than the NFs, and the S Techs are stiffer than the DFs. Keep in mind I've had the DFs, NFs, and now H Techs. Although the Tanabe's softer springs may feel more "comfortable," they make low offset rims nearly impossible without rubbing.

When choosing the right offset rims, I try to use eight08custom's formula of 8" wide rims in the front with 35 offset and 9" wide rims in the rear with 35 offset. For example, 18x8 et35 fronts and 18x9 et35 rears should give you a nice flush. Good luck.

Here's a pic of my NF210s all around...

Here's a pic with NF210s in the front and Tein H Techs in the rear... It's subtle, but the rear is lower using the H Techs...

You and I have smiliar taste when it comes to lowering and offset. I have always liked your rides setup. I 2 am a spring *****, Iv had trd's which in my opinion are a tad to high. Iv also owned sprints, where handling is far superior to the trds. However way to damn low for offset wheels or lip kits. Im buying H-Techs as we speak and hopefully finding a medium between Trd's and Sprints. My wheels are 18 x7.5 on 225's. These are going to be purchased within the next 6 months( 18" or 19"). 20's in my opinion are to harsh for a daily. http://www.ssr-wheels.com/wheels/kleid_20.asp

Lovin' the kleids! I think you're really going to like the H Techs.

I just installed my set of H techs and the paperwork that came with it said to cut the front bump stops in half which i did. I love them the drop looks nice and i know it will only get better after they settle. I need to take some pics when they settle.

I threw on my H-Tech's today with some tokico struts and shocks. The front is a little stiffer than i wanted. However its a alright combo. Has anybody else bought these struts and used them with the h techs.

Those were actually going to be my next purchase. I have always heard good things about tokico shocks and struts.

I have Tokicos and H-Techs. I've only installed the rear shocks and plan to do the struts when time permits. It's a fairly stiff ride up front as is, so I don't know if the Tokicos have anything to do with it. I'll try to get my struts on asap and see if there's a difference.

Well i drove my car all last night while running repo accounts. Iv put a decent amount of miles on the car now.

Differences:

1. Mainly, stock strut=less travel, Tokico makes up for the lost travel from lowering of the vehicle. So bumps are not as harsh. There is more absorbtion of the road.

2. Handling is improved, dont expect anything major however.

The tein springs are still stiff in the front, between the spring rate and low profile tires. It wont get much better than it is now. So far i like the setup and H-techs. However i could see why D_Unit is running the NF's in the front and 45 tires instead of 40. Its a little more setup for comfort than mine. I hope everbody can gather a little bit of info from eachother to really narrow the type of setup they want. I know it always helps me out.

Can't help myself, I know this is a Tein thread, but have any of you tried Sprint? I have Sprint springs and they ride really well even with OEM dampers, and the drop, well... Take a look and see. The fronts sit inside the fender and the rears are maybe a finger width gap. Just an alternate suggestion.

I have had sprints before, by far the best handling out of any spring for the 2gen xb. I absolutely loved them, they are to low however for what i am setting my car up for.
