Default 11' xB CV Axle

Any of you guys with the newer 2nd Gen xB's have any CV axle issues ? My car had like 20,000 miles on it and the cv axle on my drivers side went bad. THe inner boot ripped completely around one of the rings and grease went everywhere. I just wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this problem and whether or not its worth trying to warranty it out at the dealer. Then again my car is slammed and probably not worth putting stock crap back on and going back to the dealer.

Btw, the dealer was trying to charge me $649 for a CV Axle, I got it at my job, Autozone, for like 70 bucks. Lol.

Yeah being lowered they are not going to cover it under warranty.

Yup. As I recall, Neek had to replace one of his axles too.

Chalk it up for being cool and pay the price.

Same problem I have on my Xb. My '11 Xb's 40g miles broke its boot as well. so instead of replacing the boot I just change the axle itself. yup. 70$ at autozone.

thats what i was about to do too. did you need to drain the tranny fluid or need any special tools other than the cv axle nut ?

i know the tC1 gens have a terrible problem with the CV axles which the car is slammed, what we do most of the time just get each side from o'rileys they are lifetime warranty and do it yourself .. other places have similar warranties

Has anyone had multiple issues with the inner cv axle boot ? That seems to be the one that is getting torn up everytime.
