Default Brake upgrade

Looking to upgrade my front and rear brake assembly from stock. Any suggestions or recommendations as to what to get? Top 5 would be helpful. Most of my driving consists of switch back roads and at times half mile straight aways. Additionally, these roads are predominantly up and down mountains. I have already installed front and rear sway bars and strut brace which have dramatically helped. So any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Upgrades start different pads, either semi-metallic or ceramic.

From there you can change the rotors to slotted, cross-drilled or slotted and cross-drilled.

After that you start looking at size upgrades.

You have two basic options with that. You can swap the front rotors and calipers for a set form the 2nd gen tC, 11-16 model years. They are a direct bolt on with slightly larger and thicker rotors. No options to do this with the rears.

The second option is where you move into big brake kits and at least $1000 and up in money/ Great if you race but really overkill for the street.

The tC2 brake calipers with Hawk or Akebono pads and upgraded fluid (I like ATE Gold Typ200) would probably be the most cost-effective upgrade.

This sounds very interesting. Are the calipers a lot different? Bigger piston?

Default Brake Upgrade

296mm rotors and caliper mounts from a 2007 V6 RAV4 are a direct bolt up. Stock xB rotors are 275mm. The xB calipers bolt right up and have the same piston size as the RAV4.

Default Just did this upgrade last month.

Finally got around to this actual upgrade, I used 2013 Scion tC calipers and brackets. I scrounged around for awhile and got both sides for under 75, went ahead and got calipers
so I could take the time to paint them and then swap them out once I actually had time. Rotors and pads are from R1 concepts, love their products. Looks much better when running 18 inch wheels.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone that has replied to my post. I decided to go with the Power Stop 1-Click Z23 Evolution Sport Drilled and Slotted Front Brake Kit with Calipers (model: KC258A).
