Coils vs Springs for Rims?
i ran tein s-tech springs when i first bought my xB but ultimately the drop was not enough. i did the air ride with mini trucks and was burnt out on it, and always like static drops better. i am currently on D2BD coilovers which give me the drop i want. I had 20s with the springs, but trying to find wheels that will not rub on my current drop. ride wise, the springs were pretty close to stock and the coilovers are not
post up shots with your ksports, i almost ordered those but waited for scion pro to make theirs....

this was with the tein springs and 20s.

hey, sorry it took me so long to reply. yeah, the tein s-techs were pretty much the same ride as stock. still had the front end dive on braking and rear drop on accelerating. ultimately couldnt stand the raked looked of the coil springs....
as far as the coilovers are concerned, the car was totally different. the ride is extremely stiff! there is zero front end dive on hard braking and they have the same ride on accelerating as drag coils. there is pretty much no suspension travel. i scrape everywhere
Can't expect there too be 3 or 4 inches of suspension travel, when the exhaust hanger is 2 inches off the ground. if you want a nice 2" drop all round and not have to worry about scraping, get springs.....if you want to slam the heck out of your car, spend a couple weeks taking the wheels off so you can dial the coilovers in perfectly, then get coilovers. if i didnt NEED to be this close to the ground, i would have kept the teins. and yes, there is at least another inch of drop left on the coilovers. theoretically i could drive the car to a show, crank the coilovers down and set the car flat on the ground, and then raise it back up to drive home. it would take a good bit of time to do, but that is how low they will go. Nice!!

Darn still debating if I wanna pick them up because I want that low low. But I wanted the feeling of drop springs cause I'm running df210 and I scratch so and so at Places . If you ride over a bump do you bottom out or no? Thanks again slamyoda.
if you like the drive comfort of springs, don't get coilovers imo. i thought i could tolerate the harshness of coilovers but it was too much for my liking so i switched to bags and couldn't be happier. although i'm now looking into an air over set up...
If you start getting super low or want to run aggressive wheels, you'll have to turn the dampening up. I still prefer the ride of my coils to springs. I've just had to change how I drive a little.
Style> comfort.
Being that low, you HAVE to sacrifice something. It's not going to ride like a new Cadillac. However, you don't have to have the dampener settings that high if you don't want to be quite that low. Having them turned down a bit increases the comfort and makes the ride a little more plush.

I scrape everywhere i go. its not a daily driver, and i live within 5 miles of the university of alabama, so the roads are pretty darn good
If your budget doesn't warrant the price of coilovers, then run springs.
