So far so good on the rubbing. I did hit a speed bump at about 35 and it did rock my world in a bad way. I did have some front end scrape on the bottom. Other than my careless driving it has been rather smooth. It is certainly firmer than stock but not uncomfortable firm.

I currently am riding on 16s and had thought about 18s but feel the loss of the sidewall will be more firm than desired. Maybe 17s in the future?
