Need Opinions Plz
 

Hi im new to the site but not new to xb's. I had an 08 a while back that i had 19x8.5 axis shines on running 235/35 with trd drop and she was beautiful until a crackhead stole it and totaled it. Its been a few years and two kids later i just picked up a black 2012 xb for the fam and i wanted to go more aggressive this time around. Now for the suspension I would love to do air but i dont know enough about it and from what i have seen its more expensive than coils unless you piece it together and as far as comfortability its on par with coils (this is a dd btw). The coils i had in mind were the ksports or the racelands, ive heard good things about both. As far as the wheels go i want to go with staggered 19's especially since i found a killer deal but i also have others on my mind. Here are the links...

i would probably do these squared in 18 in the most agressive offset which i think is +20 but dont know what widths to do and they would be in chromium black

This is the killer deal i was talking about.

Out of the 3 options i like option 3 and 2 the most.

It is a DD and it would carry me (200 lbs and i drive), my wife (125 lbs), my son and daughter in the backseat about a 100 lbs including their safety seats and a 20 lb stroller in the rear. The most i carry in here besides that is me groceries. I want a more flush look then slammed and i want to avoid rub when i do a full turn if possible. I dont mind rolling fenders and pulling them just dont want it to look funny. I would like to use hankook v12 tires, 235/35 in front and dont know what i would have to do in the rear. I have researched a lot (read all 30 pages of https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=210547) and havent quite found a good enough answer. The closest to comparison ive seen to the 19's i want are xseveredveganx xb and darren's xb. Congrats to both of you and truly dope xb's.

Don't forget Megan racing, don't know why these don't get more love I thought they were a great ride even all the way down to the point I couldn't get in my driveway. Great adjustability, smooth ride, factory attachment points for the sway bar and brake line, rebuildable and a good price. I thought they were a better design than the Korean sports, and the raceland coilovers are the huffy of coilovers.

I'd go with V-stoens over XXRs. Rear fenders will need to be rolled and pulled with that offset and there will be some poke. I'd suggest a little less offset, like +35mm, if you want more of a "flush" look.
As far as suspension goes, i'd suggest DF210s or the Teins in the lower of the two options. If you want to run coilovers, the Megans (as stated by Goodtimes) are the easiest to setup and have factory mounting points. Definitely big pluses in my book.

If you're looking for a good narrow tire , try Falken 452's made in Japan . A 235mm tire will be slightly narrower than 235mm. I used to run 912's made in Thailand , not bad A/S . However the summer 452's are much better.

I am running the xxr's and the raceland coilovers on my xb with nankang tires. My car is a daily driver and I drive a lot. Its 59 miles to my office one way!! Now I still have to pull my rear fenders because I do rub especially if I have people in the back seat, but the ride is very comfortable for me.

Varrstoen and Falken 452 is a winner.

XXR is crap.
Megan is crap.

Eibach, TRD, Tein, these are good brands, not china copies.

like xseveredveganx told me before go with the +22, the difference isnt that much. i personally went for the +30 offset since i didnt want too much poke.

Dude, I'm not sponsored by anyone. Megan has never given me ____ and I paid full price for my coilovers. Whoever says Megan's are crap is an idiot. We are all entitled to our opinions. Yours is based on nothing, mine is experiance. Oh and neither eibach, tein, or trd make a coilover for the xb2 so educate yourself before chiming in.

^ tein makes coilovers for the xb2 but just the basics.

Meh. Ricersux is running Airlift's air setup and I think it's pretty crappy. Struts pop when airing up and rear bag peels off the mount the first day of driving.

ive personally had the 452's and thought they suck. Theyre good when theyre new but once they start to wear down id say halfway through their life they get super hard and noisy. Its probably the noisyest tire ive ever had and i actually ran it on my old xb on 19's with trd drop. I purchased the hankooks later and love the ride and theyre quiet. Only knock i have on them is that they wear faster than other tires ive had. As far as coilovers go im still stuck between the tein and megan. I find it kind of surprising that the teins are not very popular with xb2 owners . They have a good rep with other vehicles must be because they only offer the basics for our cars.

Nobody else thinks his approach is all wrong for a DD family hauler?

I used to run 235/30/20 et35mm on my DD, and with only me in it, I rubbed to high hell with DF210's.

I don't know what tire profile you intend to run or if you've pegged down a suspension setup, but if you want to avoid rubbing/safety issues with your wheels choices, while hauling your family and gear around, you're going to need some super stretched tires with a rock hard suspension. All told, it will become a horrible family hauler.

Hey what are the specs of the xxr wheels and tires ?

Like I said before I was running 19x8.5 all around with 235/35 all around on trd drop and it wasn't bad at all it was actually quite good but there was still substantial wheel gap. I'm looking for a more flush look now and the varrstoens weakest offset is +30 and the weakest width in a 19 is 9.5 so that is where I am. If I find a quality used set of wheels in better widths and offsets I will go for that. As far as suspension I'm either going with tein or Megan coilovers.

i'm thinking theres a high possibility of rubbing with those sizes

So here's an update still looking for wheels found some works 19x8.5 +12 19x9.5 +20 y'all think that will rub?
