18" wheel - 225/50/18 on non dropped xB 2nd gen
2012 xB. manual trans. non dropped (and with no interest to drop)
I am interested on getting 225/50/18 on a non dropped xB 2nd gen. The idea is: #1 to get wheels that will close the gap with 1" (similar to what usually you get when drop and use regular diameter tires), #2 to get some increase on speed (this will give a speed increase of about +5 mph at 60mph), and #3 to flush the tires as much as possible.
Wondering if anyone tried using 225/50/18 and if anyone would have some pics on it. Any advise on what offset to use on front and on the back to bring the tires as flush as possible with no rubbing. Any rubbing concerns?
Also, anyone tried to calibrate the speedometer to correct the speed?

You may be able to recalibrate the speedo, but I haven't seen it.
I don't see how a larger tire will effectively increase your speed, but it will certainly alter your speedometer readings.
Larger tire will also raise rotating mass and potentially decrease fuel mileage. Ride will certainly improve, though!

vancouverray, your rims are gorgeous. What are the sizes on your tires and on the rims? Please quote the offset if you know it.
pyroman131, your rims are great too. What is the size on your rims? 18X? Also, what offset they have?
xseveredveganx, by running larger diameter tires, you get higher speed at the same rpm. You are right, it will increase the gas mileage on accelerations, but I think at cruising speed it will decrease the gas mileage as the engine will run at a lower rpm. However, the mpg is not my highest concern. If there is anything that xB gen 2 with manual trans is crying for, it is the 6th gear.
