2nd-Gen xB Wheel/Tire Buyer's Guide

Hey guys/gals trying to put one together for you all. Please post up your wheel size& offset, FULL tire size, if you rub, and if you have to run camber and or spacers! I and other mods will update a master list in the first post, similar to the other models' threads on the same topic!

Alright! Share what you got!

Size / Offset/ Drop/ Tire size.Tire height/ Issue?/ Fit

17x7/ +50/ Eibach Sportline/ 215.45.17/ None/ Tucked
20x8.5/ +38/ Tein ?-techs/ 225.30R.20/ None/ Flush

Stock IS300 wheels and tires. 17x7" 50mm offset, 215/45 tires, dropped of sportlines. No rubbing

Kanchi, you need to include the tire size(s) on the master list in the OP, since that's the piece of this puzzle that would actually rub. A lot of wheel size / offset / drop combos will work with a particular size tire, but rub with another.

Thanks for putting this together.

Close, but no cigar Drew, your belief is incorrect.

The hub bore on the 2nd-Gen xB is 60.1mm.

What's the bolt pattern on the xB2?

CIONIDE 08-17-2009 08:05 PM

5x114.3mm (4.5"), and the thread pitch for the studs is 12x1.5

anim8r3d 09-09-2009 03:09 PM

way noob question

Okay. I'll be the first to say that, while I love the look of a modified vehicle, and love the Xb for that very reason, I've never done it. Any of it. Recently I convinced my wife that her new RS 6.0 would look even hotter with new wheels (she's got stock).

Here's the question. Would Konig Unkown 17" rims fit on the Xb? I'm not planning on installing them myself (see above), but wonder what needs to be purchased beyond the rims, and I'm assuming new tires? What kind of questions should I ask?

Thanks.

anim8r3d 09-09-2009 03:37 PM

after a little research...

Having looked at the Konig Unknowns, the offset is 40mm, the Hub Bore is 73.1mm, and the bolt pattern is 5x114.3. Looks like the bolt pattern is right. Hub bore on the Xb is smaller than the hub bore on the wheel, so if I understand correctly she'll need hub rings?

Yes, 60.1mm - 73.1mm hub rings. 17" wheels with the specs above will fit fine, and the tires should be 225/45-17.

Ok I have a few questions of my own, hope ya can answer or correct me....

Ok I got all the info I need on bolt pattern and thread pitch, my question what is the highest and lowest offset we should go on the XB2.... I saw two set of 20's that I really liked but the offset on one of them was 50 and the other was 25.... I know average for our cars are +30 -+45 correct? so I take it 25 and 50 are not safe or something?? like what issues would I run into getting a wheel whose offset is 25 or even 50 for that matter?

CIONIDE 09-14-2009 08:38 PM

Jay_Blaze; the wheel width & what you are lowered on (how much your box is lowered) are every bit as important as offset when determining fitment options... so, what are the wheel widths and how much is your xB dropped?

Jay Blaze 09-14-2009 11:14 PM

Hey Cionide,

Nah man its only a few weeks old so its bone stock right now...:icon_frown:
I am still bebating if I am going to drop it or not...I am def looking to run 20 or maybe a staggered 19 not to sure yet.... If I were to drop er I may look into the TRD just to get a minimal drop so that I can run thicker tires with bigger wheels and minimize wheel gap.

If I do go with 18 inch setup then I may do the tanabe NF set.

I always went by bolt pattern only or universal 5 five lugs (depending what the car had) never paid attention to hub rings or offset as I never had a problem with rubbing or caliper clearance So now that I have a brand new car I figured I would do right this time and not take chances.... so ok now that I have taken five minutes of your life you will never get back...lol.... tell me what is best if I start with wheels and work my way to the drop.

FWIW...ya can just call me Jay instead of putting my whole name all da time..lol
