Did you get these rims from Sleek Motoring in Mt View? I was debating on getting a set of these as well. What kind of springs are you running, and what size tires? Looks great!

If you dont mind me asking, what size tires are you running? I hope one day to go AIR and have it sit nice and flush like yours.

#3. Tire damage from potholes due to almost no sidewalls
#4. Wheel damage from potholes or curbs
#5. Decreased acceleration from heavy weight
#6. Decreased mpg from heavy weight
#7. Decreased braking response (and increased brake pad wear) from heavy weight
#8. Decreased handling (resistance to turn-in) from heavy weight located further out from center of wheel

Not trying to dissuade you from 20's, just making sure you're fully informed before making a decision that you might regret later if you didn't know what issues might crop up.

i am going to have to disagree with a few of these just from personal experience...
#1 and 2 i run 225/35/20 which when you look at them are really no different in side wall from say a 205/40/17, actually 1/10 of a inch different to be exact so i wouldnt consider them a rubber band, #2 i personally prefer the stiffer ride conpared to the stock 205/55/16.
3 and 4 are determined by how careful you drive and how bad your roads are in your area...
5 and 6 i have noticed some decrease in acceleration but there again i dont drive mine like a sports car it is not... imoa and 6 i dropped 1 mpg over the stock wheels going from 31 mpg to 30mpg so i wouldnt say thats even a factor, but that go's back to the way you drive your xb
7 again is determined by how you drive if you constantly drive your car outside of its intentions you will see a decrease in braking i personally havent seen this and 8 handling i think is better because of the smaller sidewall having less roll...

just personal opinion

I have to disagree with your disagreements on this topic.

Heavier wheels are harder to stop period.. Not to mention the extra wear and tear on the struts do to a heavier wheel and tire oscillating at heaver impact which the factory struts and shocks arent designed to dampen (same reason motocross riders set up their springs to their weight) Taller tire takes more time to get up a good rolling speed.. its just facts

as far as how bad your roads are.. where do you live? utopia? I have NEVER been to a place where there arent imperfections in the road.. You ever see how cool you look sitting on the side of the road with a taco'd wheel? Dips, driveways, curbs, rocks, or any type of road hazard for that matter cause bend wheels

The only contradiction to the fuel economy is that it will lessen from stop and go but improve from a highway standpoint due to taller stance = lower rpm at freeway speeds

where to begin... first i did state this was just my opinion...

as far as weight, my 20 inch wheels are only 24lbs and the tires were under 23lbs so as far as weight i am right in line with most 18-19 inch wheel and tire setups, so as far as doing anymore damage than the stock trds 19s wheel and tire combo i dont see the connection...

as far as roads i live in nashville, tn. our roads suck but it goes back to the way you drive your car and like i said previously the difference between my tire sidewall and a 205/40/17 is 1/10 of a inch. and yes i have i blown many a bag or tire and been stuck on the side of the road and oh yes i look real cool.... just saying

not to nock anybody but personal opinion is just that -personal opinion, if you dont like the look of 20s- dont get them. if you like 19 do that, i am not trying to sell you on either i trying to provide a opinion of someone who actually has 20s on there vehicle...

The connection being that your low profile rubber band will not absorb any of the impact from the road, the suspension however will.. Ever wonder why all basketball players have terrible hips and knees and walk like cripples at 55? Your struts endure that same impact

Yeah its real cool when you are late for real like events like work, flights, weddings, meetings, picking your children up from school

as far as it being your opinion, then I guess its just that. But after working in the racing industry I have found my opinions to be more factual with testing and comparisons along with simple math.. but hey, 20's look great on the toasters, but I dont want the headaches that come along with going 1 inch larger.. I spend enough time as it is with my harley's sitting on the side of the freeways

makes me want to go 20. except for the exposed lugnuts. i'd be worried about them being stolen even with keyed lugnuts. are those the 28 offset?
