Dropping xB on TRD springs need opinion on tire size for rims
Hello not sure if this was already asked but here I go.
I was given TRD lowering springs for free from my buddy for my 2014 xB. I currently have the stock rims on my ride but I do have some 18x8 35offset rims (same for front and rear) sitting in my garage. Now from what I remeber the TRD springs drop about 1" in front and about 1.5" in rear. I was looking for someone to tell me what size tire would be right for the car so I can prevent rubbing.
Thanks.

You aren't going to rub with the TRD drop, unless you put some seriously oversized tires on those rims. To keep near the stock overall diameter you'll want to run 215 or 225/40R18 tires. For an example the tires in my profile pic to the left are 18x8 +40 with 215/40R18 tires and I'm able to tuck both the front and rear lips on bags and I'm about 3-4" lower than you'll be going on the TRD springs, so you are perfectly safe.

No, it'll still fit fine. You'll get some better lip protection and a little bit softer ride but your speedometer will be off a bit as well as the overall diameter will be larger than stock. Nothing tremendous though, about 2%.

I've long been running comparable 235/45/17 rubber on 17x8+35 rims with TRD springs and nothing, except the hardest front hit, only briefly touches. And I could add a 12-15mm spacer in the rear.
On my next (just waiting for funds for rubber) 18x8.5+35 rims, I'll go 225/40/18 without anticipating much difference. Until summer & 45K shock replacement when I may talk myself into coilovers for "that serious look" and only then I need to be more careful...
