NU-B NEEDS WHEEL HELP

I'm looking at some 18x8 Lexus wheels for my 2014 xB, but unsure as to what offset would be best to go with. There are three styles with +35, +40 & +45. I want to run 225/45 tires because this is a daily driver by my teenager, and will remain at stock height. Trying to give the xB a different look, but keeping it clean and simple. Aloha!

They'll all work.

which offset do you think would be best to minimize the chances of any rubbing?

I mean, with stock height you're golden, hence my response. Now it's just up to you whether you want flush, poke, or tuck. With a stock height and never wanting to go lower, I'd rock the 45's to stay out a bit, and then you definitely won't rub too.

Mahalo (thanks) for the info! Was kinda wanting to get close to flush, but a little inside of the fender would work too. Aloha!

Definitely. No worries man. You certainly want 45's then. Not sure what Lexus wheels you are using, but if they are the classics, those do not look good at all with stock ride height let alone barely look good when dropped. Good luck man.

Thanks again. Its the LS & GS 460 wheels (5 spoke styles)...or possibly the Toyota X-Runner wheels which are +35.

Ah. I thought maybe you were thinking about the SC430's or something. But yeah, those 460's will look... eh... whatever. Any wheel will look good tucked though, remember that.

THANKS! anyone else $0.02 is appreciated.

LS460s won't fit without adapters. They're 5x120 and we're 5x114.3.

All three of your listed offsets will fit well within the OEM fenders. The +30mm may rub, but it's doubtful.

Got it. Thx.

anyone want to comment on GS 18x8 wheels +45 with 225/45?
If anyone has some pics of the same size wheel so I could see how it looks in relation to the fender, I'd appreciate it. (tried going through the 18" thread..was taking too long) Aloha & Mahalo!

Definitely going to be inside the fender by about 1/2" in the front and about an 1" in the rear.

Definetely not an expert but I saw an xb with similar rims as a friend of mine but were much wider. For whatever reason the wider rims and tires didn't look near as good as the more narrow. They kinda bulged out of wheelwell and(just my opinion) took away from the smoother line look of the Scion

xB2's are pure bubbles and need to be accented as such. Rolled/bubbled-more fenders with some fatties on it dropped to the ground is exactly what that car needs. Sorry you don't like it xB1partsdudeguy

Wider tires/rims

As I stated I'M not an expert and I see your point! You are very knowledgeable and I appreciate that. With that said I'm always learning and I see that the tires and rims in question are for a completely different xb than what I was looking at,which was stock factory. When one goes away from stock for a completely different look and ride you need to go with the whole package and your suggestions are correct!

criminaltc 03-12-2014 04:18 PM

I was just saying that what the car needs is what you said you don't like in your opinion. It needs fat wheels, and needs to be bulgey and needs to be low, you know.
