Tallest tires that fit stock height xB on factory 16" wheels
I'm looking for help choosing the tallest tire size for my xB. It's a 2013 10 Series, totally stock. I just bought my xB on Saturday, and then we had our first snow storm of the season on Sunday, and unfortunately the 'Bs belly was rubbing across the snow.
So for just for the winter months I would like to increase the ground clearance by running taller tires. The tire size I am thinking is 215/60R16 on the stock wheels. The 215s are about 1.25" taller netting me a gain of about 5/8" in ground clearance. That would put me at the same height as my last car that went through the snow fine. Would it be possible to fit an even taller tire?
Come spring, it's back to low profile. But for now I need some more height.
So has anybody on here installed this size, or larger, tires on their xB? Any tire rub issues or other problems I need to know about?
