Michelle

You still have not responded to my attempts at contacting you about the bad HID kit you've sold me. Please respond before I take actions with my credit card company

Hello,

I just got transitioned over this forum, please PM me with your hidextra.com O#
so I can search up your account.

You have to explain your situation, is it that both bulbs are not working? IN this case all you need to do is reverse the polarity. All Scion cars needs the reverse polarity instructions.

Send me your email and I can email you the instructions. Otherwise it's easier to call me at 860-821-8212 between 9am - 5pm.

Until this day I have not gotten a call from you, please advise.

Thanks!

Michelle

Fixed. Just take disconnected the wire from the ballast and reconnected it backwards. bulbs work fine now. Thank you for all your help, it is much appreciated. I will promote your company whenever someone asks for a good HIT kit

You did say all Scions had reversed polarity? If so would I need to do the same thing when installing the bi-xenon kit? If I do please post how to. I have a good idea of what to do from the last post, but I don't want to screw this up.

The wire that connects from the harness to the ballast can go in either direction, for this exact reason. Try it the normal way and if they don't work just pull the harness out and try it the other way, no harm will be done if it's in the wrong way.

If you have some time, could you perhaps post some output pictures please? I'm looking to do this mod, but am curious how much extra glare is created by putting HID's in a halogen reflector housing.

Of course. I was actually surprised at how little scatter there was from them. From how everyone ranted and raved I was expecting them to be blinding and shooting light everywhere. They did need to be pointed down a little bit though. I'm driving to Chicago tonight, but I should be able to take pictures tomorrow night.

Great! I really want HID's but am reluctant to just get a kit and throw it in. I was thinking about doing a full retrofit, but that is pretty costly. I guess the only other way is to somehow get a hold of some Toyota ist OEM headlights which are HID.... not sure how to do that.

I have a question, I have a set of HID's in my xD that I have had for a while, never any issues with it, but, my sister put a set into her Audi A4. They worked with out any issues for a while then one of the bulbs went out... She brought it to her install guy and he swapped the bulbs, no affect, so they changed the ballast next, now the light turns on, but it will randomly blink only on the driver side(the side that originally blew out) The install guy doesnt have a clue, and when I took a look at it everything seemed to be wired correctly. Any ideas why my sister car winks at oncoming cars?

I had a similar problem with my Saab. I think it may be with the car's computer and the reduced power consumption of the HID system. Try disconnecting the negative terminal of her battery to 'clear any codes' and see if it continues to do it. You may need a relay to fool the car into believing it still has halogen headlights. In my Saab I had the dealer program with the Tech II controller to enable xenon, which told the vehicle to accept the lower power consumption, in addition to that, a relay was also needed to keep it from cycling on/off two or three times/second.

I've only found them on eBay, but it was like $1600 plus 600 shipping and forget that. Maybe when the Urban Cruiser is a bit more popular we can get them from europe.

What type of car does your sister have (YR MAKE and model)? this type of issues are knowned to be called "flickering" not enought power or too much power going through, is your sisters ballast a 35watt or 55 watt? most 55 watts burn bulbs more quickly.

In this case to stop the flickering you need a relay harness, but provide me with the yr, make and model and i'll get back to you.

Thanks~

Ya... I don't know why Toyota/Scion didn't make it an option in the states.... we always get the shaft over here...

Installed the Bi-Xenon kit, and it's pretty nice. I do need to realign them, but the light is solid and bright. I drove tonight, and nobody flashed their lights at me thinking my brights were on. This kit is a good bargain. The only weird thing is the delay after I turn off the lights (about 3 seconds), but that may be normal and doesn't bother me at all. THANKS HIDxtra

Is the "cutoff" on your output pretty sharp? I might go with a HIDextra kit instead of a costly retrofit if it isn't too obstructive to other drivers.
