Default Gauge Interest in XD Carbon Cowl Scoop

Just a quick 'disclaimer': This is not a current product and I'm not selling or asking for anything other than member input.

Please let me know if there is already a product like this, I haven't been able to find one.

I've been making and selling for some time now a carbon fiber cowl scoop for the Honda Fit and realized the potential to provide something very similar for the XD, although with a shape more fitted to the XD. Some claim this scoop lowers under hood temps, others use it to duct cool air to the intake, but I think most just do it for looks. I know the battery location of the XD would be in the way of air flow, but a future project of making a carbon duct could be taken on if the battery location can be worked around.

So for now please let me know if this is something XD owners may be interested in.

Thanks, here are a couple pics of the Honda part.

I think that would be pretty cool, if for nothing other than looks.

But would there be any other choice of finish? Carbon fiber is cool and all, but maybe something to match the body color?

I'd go for a chrome one!

Most all the parts are in carbon, the black one above is painted, though still carbon. The part could easily be sold in primer or maybe in color, but since it sits on the plastic cowl cover, the black helps it blend in more.
It's not likely that it could be chromed but silver cloth is an option:

I dig it. Need to hear price, but it looks like it could practically throw some much needed cooler air under our hoods. I dont think its gonna do anything DRASTIC, but you dont claim it too, and like just about all our mods its the sum of all the little parts is what makes the whole. Neato.

I might be interested but if the carbon pattern didn't match my hood it wouldn't look too good. I like the idea and it looks like good quality.

The price for the Honda part, which I would expect to be about the same for the Scion, is $95.00 for exposed carbon or carbon kevlar and $75.00 for black painted or primed carbon. One nice thing about it is that it takes all of two minutes to install.
There are a variety of weave available and various colored carbon kevlar, so matching existing carbon should be no problem.

Does anyone know where I could purchase the stock cover online? We don't have a dealer nearby and I would like to get a part to start looking into it further.

Rogue you should really post those pics that are up on your link here, you'll have your interest in no time.

DO NOT judge this until you visit the link and see THOSE pics. I was kinda 'meh' until i checked the link. CHECK THE LINK. I'm soooo down.
Functional, aesthetic, yet not nearly as intrusive to the car's natual beauty as a hood scoop would be, totally hot, That 8hs weave is secksi.

Thanks for the comments and help, I guess the photos above were just to present the concept, but here are a few more, there are many more on the link, including some in blue and yellow carbon kevlar, 2x2 twill, 1x1, silver...

Possibly, I'll let you know.

My wife was in Phoenix today so asked her to stop by the dealer and they only sell the whole cowl piece and not just the access panel. I'll be checking around to see if I can pick up just the panel.

Hey man, thanks for the referrel...Got a PM from him this afternoon asking if I would like to use my car as a test fit...After looking at the product pictures, amazing by the way, I told him that I would be down for it...So i'm waiting for his reply and I also have to wait until my car gets done at TT...That hopefully won't be to much longer...

I will keep you updated...
