Default LED DRL and Fog Light on my xD

This is my first Scion and I installed DRL and mounted fog light yesterday.

my roommate and I couldn't go through firewall so we weren't able to

connect fog light. Probably try again tonight.

This strip is way brighter than I expected. LOL

please ignore random green wires on front grill, they are wires from fog light

that are not connected yet.

Is that LED blue, or is the camera making it look blue?

If it is blue, better be careful looking like a cop with that. Other than that, looks good!

How did you wire the led? How did you run the cables?

You need to go thru the main gromet on the firewall for your switch, or just power them with a relay coming off the parking lights.

Both LED and HID are plain white with hint of little blue from certain angle. Cops won't care.
I wired LED to the parking lights. Really simple.

Could you be more specific as to how the lights are wired? Can I wire them to the headlights?

You can wire them to any light you want, just tap into the harness on the back of the headlight.

How do you "tap into the harness in the back of the headlight"? I may have an idea how, but if someone can explain that to me easily, I'll understand it. Thanks.

man, i'm having a heck of a time routing my factory fog light wire harness through "correct" grommet. there's a square sleeve that makes it impossible to see what i'm doing. i read previous posts, but i'm trying to keep it factory correct. the directions that came with kit is pretty crappy and vague.

Please tell me where you purchased those xD fog lights. Did they come as a kit, or did you mount them on the original panels? And, how did you mount them? I want to buy some fog lights for my wife's xD.

Thanks,
Rick

Yes, I'd like to know where to get the fog light kit as well. I've done a lot of searching on the net and can't find any specifically made for the xD.

Thanks in advance!

i bought my foglights from a Toyota dealership. they're specifically made for the xD. installed them myself, and it was pretty straightforward, but i had to re-rout the wires to the switch, which involved lenghtening the three wires. not hard, but you need to make sure they're well-soldered and wrapped.

I went to my Toyota Dealer yesterday and talked to the Parts Manager. He said they could no longer get the fog lights for the xD because there was a "stop sale" on them in the computer. He said those fog lights (the ones that trdsparks.com used to have) were not made by Toyota but were made by an aftermarket company and sold through Toyota dealerships. He said some dealerships might still have some in stock but he had no way of searching in his computer.

I asked him what a "stop sale" meant and he said it could mean a number of different things. The company that made them could have gone out of business, they might have stopped making the parts, or Toyota might have found a problem with the product.

If you could fill us in on where you bought the fog lights or if it says anywhere in the documentation that came with them, who the actual company is that made them, it would be greatly appreciated! =)

thanks
