Default Well, I did something stupid. (RS1 body kit help!)

I drove over a curb a couple of months ago. It was the entire side of the car lengthwise went over an island in a parking lot. At first it appeared to have just scratched up the side skirt. (You have to realize it is winter in Chicago, and I'm not crawling under my car this time of year unless I have someplace warm and not snowy to do so.)

It pretty much ripped up my passenger side skirt, and now it is basically dangling from the two end attachment points. My dad and his friend that does body work looked at it and said it looks like it might just need clips, like the black plastic ones you just push in. (I don't know how else to describe them. If you've taken apart stuff on cars you probably know what I mean.)

Can anybody tell me what holds the piece on that I might be missing, and what size/kind of pieces hold it on?

So.......... were you doing parking-brake slides in a snow-covered parking lot?

Great help boys, great help.

I would take your car to your dealership and ask them what you need to fix your sideskirt. They'll be able to sell you the part(s) but it'll probably be pricey depending on what they are. If its a simple fix, buy the pieces you need to fix the dangling issue and have your dad's friend fix it for you.

However, if they work on cars, why couldn't they have taken a better look at it and order the part(s) for you?

i haven't looked at mine, but if they are the little clips i think you're talking about (which i really think they are) they can be found at any pep-boys of whatnot store. if you can, find a place to crawl under your car and see what they look like, then you can just ask for them when you go into the store. they are very common and used on just about every car out there. the trick is finding the right style/size. once you get them, all you have to do is line up the holes and pop 'em in, very simple, very easy to do.

It was dark and there was snow in a brand new parking lot. Wasn't that hard.

My dad and I took the side skirt off and I'll go into the dealer when it is warmer out. I'd rather have one sideskirt than have it fall off in traffic or something.

i know exactly what u mean. they are the circular pushin clips that hold on the kit and are really easy to replace. they just snap in holding the middle of the skirt inplace. just go to the dealership and ask for replacements, not expensive at all.

those clips you speak of are called grommets. and they're relatively inexpensive.
