Oil drain plug size/ Frram SureDrain and Fumoto Valve

Hello,

new xD owner, well co-owner, I bought this car for my wife. One of the first things I like to do on my cars is get a SureDrain on there to make oil changes a snap. My wife drives about 80 miles a day and it seems like I'm always changing oil on her car. The SureDrain makes this a quick event. Does anyone know the size of the oil drain plug? Here's the size chart on the SureDrain:

SD1 = 1/2-20
SD2 = M14x1.5
SD3 = M12x1.25
SD4 = M12x1.75
SD5 = M18x1.5

OK, according to my dealer, all Toyota cars use 12mm-1.25. So that means either the SureDrain SD-3 or the Fumoto F-103 should work on the xD.

is the xd's plug recessed?

Check out the oil change thread - looks like the plug is part of the filter cartridge cover, so it will need to be removed at each oil change anyway. I haven't used the Suredrain plugs, but wouldn't this type of assembly negate any time savings with that type of plug?

Thanks for mentioning it, though - I'll look into getting one for my Vibe.
