Default Welcome My New Sponsor/Strup Performance/Exhaust Inst w/ Pics/Vids

I want to thank Charlie at Strup Performance who has been working hard to bring this exhaust to the xD market...Even with the suffering economy and having to put this project on hold for several months, Charlie was able to make this exhaust available for us xD owners...I have been in talks with Charlie over the last 9 months reference this exhaust...

I just received my exhaust today and opened the box to examine the contents...This exhaust is a thing of beauty and the craftsmanship is top notch...But what else would you expect from Strup right? Anyways, I took some pics of the exhaust to show you all what it looks like and I will update this thread with the install, after install pics, as well as a video clip of the sound...I should have this installed by the weekend...

Again thank you Charlie and all the people at Strup Performance...Now on to the pics...

Congrats, great company that makes great products. You can always expect two things from a strup exhaust, 1 fantastic build quality/looks, 2 its not going to be quiet.

Alright everyone, it's in and it sounds BAD A$$...I drove over to Randy's (RANDODE's) this afternoon so I could use his "shop" to install this thing...The install was a super easy and everything was "plug-n-play" as they say...Everything lined up PERFECTLY and the intall took ME a total of 20 minutes or so...And I have ZERO mechanical skill...On a scale of 1 to 5 difficulty, with 5 being the most dfficult, this was a 1...Charlie and Strup performance have hit a home run with this exhaust and it get's a Randode stamp of approval...Just in case anyone wants to know numbers, the tubing to the canister is 2 1/4 inch piping (stock is 1 3/4 inch) and the tip is (4) inches big...Here are the pics of the install, although it happened so fast I just took it with the stock exhaust on and then it out with the new one in...I also have video/audio clips for you guys with the help of Randy, thank you by the way...

Stock ugly exhaust:

The sound is truly awesome...Nice and deep...Even my wife likes it which surprises me...

And the install couldn't be easier...The messiest part was making sure you get the rubber hangers nice and soapy wet so they come off easier...

Now I need to choose between strup and precision...

and looks like you lift your car really high too... I wonder if install is possible w/o jacking it up

I'm fat... No really, it's just easier when you have the right tools and make things easier on yourself...There was no way I could do this without jacking mine up...My car sits so damn low...I also didn't wanna ding or scratch the new exhaust putting it in so I was nice and gentle with it...If you have a jack, use it and make things easy on yourself...

The tone is deeper than I thought it would be, very nice! Also, the second video of Randode driving, are you filming? When he turns in quick to the driveway trying to turn around I swear I hear a gasp.

I know, the sound is really deep, NOT raspy and that's what I was looking for...As far as that noise your heard when Randy was driving, that was my front end scraping when he made the u-turn...

Anyways, thanks for all the positive comments...I can't think of any negative things about this exhaust...

Ease of installment - Check
Great quality and workmanship - Check
Great Sound - Check
No bumper rubbing / No exhaust moving back and forth while revving - Check

Just got an emailed response back from Charlie and this is what he had to say:

That is great news Tim, sorry for the late response, we have had email issues this week, got it solved this morning. The suggested retail price is $429.95. But you know nobody sells it for that. I would suggest that they get a hold of Fast Scions in Los Angeles for the purchase. They are our number one Scion Dealer and handle customers with great care. Of course any one that they like to deal with that carries Strup Products can help them. Normal cost will be about $325 to $350.00 plus shipping, but I have a couple deals working with Fast Scions. Have them check with them. Thanks for all your help in posting, job well done, thanks again. If you need any thing else let us know.

Charlie
