xD LT Header + Intake Manifold LATEST DYNO Results

Its probably just confusion over the original 145-hp post and the latest 148 hp numbers. No worries.

The air intake (CAI) used was a custom piece we designed that employed a 3-inch section of tubing connected tot he factory MAF and housed a filter inside the fenderwell. For our testing, we simply hung it out in the engine bay (with hood open). This improved power over the stock air box at every engine speed-there was no loss experienced anywhere in the rev range compared to the stock air box.

i gathered from that, you lost power somewhere on the lower powerband with the intake piping and box unless you meant a whole different manifold all together

That statement was a comparison between two of our intake manifold designs (not between one of ours and the stock intake manifold). Intake manifolds can be tailored to maximize power at specific engine speeds. Rather than choose a design for maximum power (at higher engine speeds), the better choice for most street cars is one that maximizes average power production. Neither intake manifold (not to be confused with air intake aka CAI) lost power compared to stock intake, it is just that one made more peak power but less average power compared to what will be the production version.

So, are you guys planning to make a CAI for our cars, too??? I wouldn't mind buying the CAI and manifold, since we'll know that they're compatible with each other...

The authors supplier/shop disapproved the project. Rather put their money into mustangs and corvettes.
