add-a-circuit troubles
 

Sorry I'm spamming this forum, but i'm having the worst time with this whole thing. Someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong. I hooked up the add-a-circuit to the radio/sidemirror 7.5A fuse. When I did this without the second fuse, it blew out the fuse. Now the LED's I've hooked up are called "pods" consisting of 6 LED's. There are two of them connected to a switch. I noticed a spark at the ground connection when I turned the ignition. Below is a VERY crude wiring diagram. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I get these dang lights to work along w/ the radio? Thanks!!!

The switch should only make/break your (+). Ground the LED's (-) to metal, then just have the (+) going through the switch, to the LEDs.

You have created a short circuit. It should be one of the following:

Fuse -> Switch -> LEDs -> Ground

or

Fuse -> LEDs -> Switch -> Ground

As Kileil said, the switch should simply be "breaking" the flow of electricity. This can be on either side of your LEDs. It is customary in automobiles to cut the flow on the ground side of the lights... but not necessary. There is no reason for the flow to go directly from the fuse (+12v) to ground, which is what one of your switch positions is doing. That's a short circuit. The fuse is supposed to blow when that happens... keeps the wires from burning!
