Cheap mods, don't do them. Seriously. Don't go the cheap route with your vehicle. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration.

Definitely an armrest, it's a huge difference from having one and not having one. Try using Ebay as your search engine for it. I think its from a company named Zeta.

x2, painting trim makes your car most unique, everything else fit the affordable bill.

The BEST "Cheap" mod I did for the inside is replacing the dim and yellowish dome light with the Thin Flexible 5mm LED Dome Light

(The Third one from the left)

http://www.oznium.com/led-domelight

We liked it so much, I ended up putting 2 in my domelight fixture, and 2 in the dome light of wifey's car. They're so bright, you can see the light that shines on the ground and the car parked next to you. Heck, you could do brain surgery in the back seat, if you were so inclined.

Default Cheap mods

If you have a manual transmission, change out the bushings with Dr. Isotope's bushings. Makes a huge difference. Broadway mirror. I like the Wheelskins leather wrap for the steering wheel. Redline shift boot replacement.....just some....have fun.

Pardon my ignorance, but what are bushings? In what aspect of driving does it make a huge difference to change them out? I have a manual transmission.

the ones that hold the cage down for the shifter are rubber so they have some give if you change those out with all metal ones the shifter is more solid and the shifts are much more clean. if you pair some bushings up with a short shift kit it makes a huge difference

How difficult are these to replace? I'm a complete newb in this respect, obviously, so I won't even attempt this if there's a chance I could screw it up. However, I'm willing to do a bit of learning to improve the performance of my Scion xD in any way. Where would be a good place to buy the new bushings anyway? Do I need a very specific kind for my xD or are they compatible with any manual transmission?

Cool! That doesn't look hard at all. Makes me wonder why Scion didn't just put in the good ones in the first place :/

Oh well, thanks for your help! I'll check out NST to find what I need.

Is there a pdf anywhere with instructions on how to do all the dismantling involved?
