VSS wiring for an aftermarket Navi Unit? Is it needed?
I'm about to install a new Clarion NX404 navi unit radio into my 2009 XD, first time I've ever done this but it looks easy enough.
The only thing I'm really wondering about is that damn VSS wiring.
My car came with the crappy basic stock radio with nothing fancy. Just a radio. And it died a couple of years ago so I don't remember much about it.
Do I even need to mess with the VSS wiring on my new radio?
I don't plan on watching any DVD's on it. I'm gathering that the importance of hooking up the VSS is for more accuracy on the new navi unit and for watching DVD's amongst other things.
But like I said I'm new at this and just wondering if the VSS is really needed these days for anything at all besides DVD's.
Thanks for the help guys.
