Wow - 23mpg? I've never been anywhere near that low, even driving with defog/AC on all the time in full city driving. No, I don't trust the dash readout on its own - the lowest I've ever gotten (by actual measurement) is about 29mpg. Generally it's ~31-33 in mixed winter driving (that's with snow tires and defog on most of the time). On the way back from our Thanksgiving trip last week, actual mileage was 36.5mpg (dash readout was 38.7). I guess the low speed (~55-60mph avg) helped more than the rain/snow mix and steady traffic hurt! Pressure in my snows is about 40psi, which helps a bit over the standard 32psi - still below the tire's max pressure rating.

Also, where did you get $75 for a filter?!? I got a few for ~$13 each (shipped) on ebay.

I've never tried it on my car windows, but it might be worth a shot if its a constant problem. I dont know if it would mess up your tint or not, either. Just an idea...
Toothpaste. And you'll LOVE the minty fresh smell!

That doesn't sound right. I use the a/c to clear the fog (colorado - snows from Halloween on) but that's what the A/C is for. Let it go! You do know that you can run A/C with full heat right?

The mileage you recorded is WAY off - even if you are using A/C - I would definitely have that looked at!

By A/c on all the time, I mean I have to have the defog on and that trips the condenser no matter what the heat setting is. Booooo! A/C runs more now than all summer. and $75 for an cabin filter?!

23 can't be right unless you're redlining it all the time. And why do you guys use recirculate and A/C? If you turn it to suck in outside air your car will be a bit cooler than normal but at least your windows will clear up. Seems to work for me in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois.

Oh, and does anyone know where to get an inexpensive cabin filter?

Genuine Toyota cabin filter from TRD Sparks is $18.50. Look under 2008 xD... for some reason they don't have it under 2009 xD.
