Dealer issues!!!??!!!!???
Well to begin with the 2 sales people as well as the finance officer were all completely clueless. Absolutely no one had a clue. Do any of you have a contact with Scion to report them to? When I went to the dealership I was going in to test drive the Yaris. Salesman 1 could not answer me any questions about said car. My wife saw the xD and suggested that I take it for a drive as well. After driving the xD I was wanting to know more about it, again salesperson #1 and now #2 didnt know jack. I then saw the RS 1.0 and began to ask questions about it, you guessed it more of the same except know they are flowing from the mouth with complete BS!! Keep in mind that untill Saturday afternoon I new nothing about Scion except it was a Toyota based company. Salesmen tell me that the 08 RS1.0 with 1800 miles on it was a 23k sticker price new and that the price on this one was $19990, they go on to tell me that the "package cost was $3200" plus the Enkei wheels were another 2k! We go in to start working the deal and Im still asking questions with no "real " answers. Almost immediately we haggle the price down to $16990. I continue to inquire about what the package included and was never told ,even now what it consisted of! For reasons beyond our control we had to go home. We returned yesterday afternoon armed with info! I inform them of what the RS 1.0 package actually cost new( had to show them the Scion press release! and he still said it was incorrect!) as well as what the wheels cost and that there is no way that this car was a 23k car! I also let thm know that the $16990 price that they pointed out there were doing me a favor on was exactly what they had the car listed for on the internet!!Imagine that. as well there is in big letters on there home page "$500 off any of our used cars!" I let them know that I was not happy with being lied to , not misled but out and out lied to. We finally get that all sorted. Now its time for financing! Oh joy, well this girl is again clueless! I had to run home to pick up our kids and was on my way back as my wife isd doing paperwork as this ones in her name not mine. The Finance girl calls and and is goin on about extended warranty, gap insurance, and the maintinance plan. Telling me that if I have my maintinance done there that they will give me free tires/ rotation for life. I begin to ask questions about what Im going to get for this money. She cannot offer me a single bit of information except , "all Toyota required maintinance". So she wants me to buy something yet cant provide me info about what she is trying to sell me!!! Come on what a joke. I go to the MGR and was handed a info sheet that listed the items that this covered, all that was included was oil changes and oh the before mentioned" free" tire rotation! Huh you want me to pay for some thing thats free? im confused! Well all that gets done, I tell them no thanks on the maintinace plan , gap , and the extended warranty. Im now walking out to the car and I walk past the salesman who has a screw gun in his hand heading inside. I walk to the back of the car and notice a number of fresh scratches right to the black plastic of the bumper! Im steaming mad as the car was just about perfect and I know there were no scratched there prior to him attempting to install the plate. I can say this because when I ran my finger over the scratches the paint came up on my finger! Must have just happened, not to mention that the screws were only in about 2 turns and I had to turn them 10 -12 more times by hand to snug them up with no screwdriver!!!! He must have dropped the plate and when he saw us comming he decided to stop and not draw attention to the area or the scratch figuring we would not see it untill later. Any help is greatly appriciated Thanks

Wow, I had a very similar situation in Winter Haven. Clueless salespeople and a finance manager that just kept trying to upsell with no idea what all these charges actually were. On top of that I had my 06 Xb to trade in, at first they only wanted to give me 9000$ for it, as I began to walk, all of a sudden they offered 12000$ for it. It was about a 3 day ordeal, but I finally came home with my RS1, but will never go there again. I would be interested to find a # to complain to Toyota myself.

I can't beleive you still bought from them honestly. All signs pointed to get out of there.

I would start as previously suggested, by contacting SCION directly via thier website and or a phone number, then I would contact the South East Toyota Coproate offices personally. If you send letters, make sure you send them certified. It gives you tracking, adds accountability on the other end, and tends to make those receiving them pay a bit more attention as you are willing to go the additional step to ensure a responce. Here's a little information to help you out: http://www.reuters.com/article/press...008+BW20080710 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southea...stributors_LLC The above information gives the names, titles and locations of corporate presidents, vp's etc. Dont' be bashful. Chain of command is for the military and law enforcement. Nowdays, I usually start somewher about mid chain and go up the food chain until I find something edible  FWIW, the finance clown at Stadium Toyota tried the same crap with me :lalala: :loser: Tried to sell me GAP insurance for some 1200-1600.00 and was happy to finance it over the life of the loan :nope: I called my insurance company (AMICA) who signed me up right over the phone for about 6 bucks a month or less. These "add ons" are a HUGE profit center for the stealerships. Check out your local credit union if you belong (or can get into one) or the bank. Many of them have buyers services that can save you a lot of $$ on the add on's like extended warranties and such. On the upside, the 2 sales ladies at Stadium (Lori Bragg & Jessica-jess is no longer with them) knew thier stuff about the new Scion XD:) The used car guy, well, like I said above..... :loser: Whatever you do, don't just lie there and take the abuse! You and people like us, keep them in business. |
The dealer may have a "customer relations" department. I'd call them and file a complaint there first. That way, the culprits will be notified of their ignorance-- and hopefully learn from the experience (VERY RARE!).
After that, contact Scion's consume relations. A case will be opened and reported to the dealer to resolve said case. Not sure what they can really do to solve the situation besides repairing the scratches that may have occurred during the license plate installation. I don't think the rules for keeping a Scion dealership is as stringent as keeping a Lexus dealership (lowest rank dealerships for X many years in a row may lose their privelege to sell Lexus vehicles), but a formal complaint will, hopefully, allow the dealer to learn what their staff needs to know. |
Thanks alot guys for your input. I will definately follow up on this.

As well , thanks for the info! Stinky , thats a nice looking car you have there!!!
