Default has this happened to you?

so I've had my xD for about 4 weeks now and after my fill up at the gas station down the block i'm like "let me check my tire pressure" when i was checking it I was like WTF 55 PSI... when it's supposed to be 33 from the factory, I guess the dealership must of overinflated the tire.

Anyone had this happen to them too?

What did you use to check the air pressure? If you used the gauge at the gas station that may be the problem, those things can be crazy off. But either way I would be surprised if the dealership did overinflate them.

It could be the gauge at the gas station. I keep a regular one in my car, and check it often.

He said he was a block from the gas station so I think it might have been a personal gauge. Nonetheless, yea that happened to my TC...but it wasn't 55 lol...it was only like 43 or something. Yours sounded like the dealership got confused with the spare pessure to a normal tire. 55 lawl.

well, the psi is supposed to be the temperature of the tires when they are cold and haven't been driven on. but you can check it again with a different tire gauge to make sure.

also, i'm not sure about this, does the xd have a TPMS system?

yes it does have TPMS, TPMS records the initial tire pressure then takes that as the standard tire pressure and then when it senses that the pressure is out of the normal range then it start crying at you. So if you have your tire inflated to 45 and reset the system it will take that 45 PSI as the standard and work from there. If you reset your TPMS when you tires are 25 then it will think that 25 is the norm and will tell you if your tire pressure drop lower then 25. I hope this isn't too confusing.

I was using the tire pressure gauge from the air pump and it has always been good to me cause I've check it with a different gauge and it's the same.

Buy a good gauge, only takes 1 drop from some dork at the gas station for it to be WAY off. I have had them off as much as 20 psi. Scary to think some mother with kids in the car not knowing better would over inflate her tires and have a blow out / accident.
