oil change late
 

i need to make a 400 mile roadtrip one way, and odo's about 19,900 and im due for oil change at 20,000.

will it hurt if i push it 300 mile pass my usual 5k oil change?

you should be good...but i do mine at 3000...check your levels

few hundred miles will not hurt your engine in anyway. I do mine oil change every 5k miles too.

It shouldn't, you'll be alright.

You'll be good. Short trips are harder on oil anyway.

No problem. I went 11,000 on my last one and the oil analysis showed that I could have gone further.

I'm going to synthetic and will take my oil change up to 10k miles..
That's what the 2010's recommended using synth.

Synthetic oil CAN go up to 10k miles between changes, but it is NOT RECOMMENDED.

Toyota DOES recommend it on their newer cars that are using the synthetic.
Like mcbrew said it will be fine to go just a little over.
Both mcbrew and I have run over 10,000 miles on the oil and had analysis done on the oil that showed the oil still had life left and could have gone further.

i guess you didn't see the analysis reports on here... search them out, read them, and come back and say that again.

Not recommended by who? Oils have come a long way.. and so has engine design and manufacturing. Toyota has uped the oil change intervals to 10K in the same engine using synthetic oil. I will do the same.

lol... who is not recommending it? VW recommends going AT LEAST 10,000 miles on synthetic. Mercedes is the same. My Sprinter van monitors the oil and goes anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 miles on the oil. Some new oil monitoring systems go up to 25,000 or more miles.
