Parking Brake console removal
Sorry this is a repeat... I think I put it in the wrong place.
My ring made its way down into the PB console this weekend and I've been trying to find info on how to take the thing off without going to my dealer and getting ripped. Has anyone removed it that wouldn't mind sending me a how-to and/or pics, or point me to a site where it's been done already?
Thanks!

I disassembled this when I was running my iPod cable behind the console and into the glove box. It's pretty easy to remove.
You shouldn't have to remove the bezels for your stereo or temperature controls. Here's how I did it:
1) Pull up the trim ring around the shifter. Mine was a manual so the boot just clicked out pretty easily. I don't know the procedure for an automagic.
2) The top bezel that goes around the shifter and cupholders snaps out by pulling upwards. I was able to help mine along by reaching into the area around the shifter and opening the clips but again, I don't know if that works for automagics.
3) With that bezel off you will see four hex bolts that hold the front of the center console on. The fifth one is in the rear center cupholder (take the loose piece of felt out to reveal it.
4) With all five bolts out, the whole center console should come out.
