Default Rear speakers

I used to have a Ford Focus that had a real deep bass sound in the rear speakers (stock). I just got an xD and the bass in general is kind of flat, especially with an 808. I don't want "rumble the neighborhood" bass, but this is pretty weak. Is it just mine, or is that normal?

when your stereo is on push the ssp button untill its set to "feel" and you should get a little more of a bump that way.

Yes bass and mids I think are lacking. I've been thinking about going somewhere to get fitted with 6X9 s in the C-pillars, since they're huge blind spots anyway. I know some jeep owners have custom 6x9s built into the rear hatch, but I figure that would encroach on our small the cargo area. I got a guys number (local) that supposedly can do it, but it's going to be $600+ for the job. I haven't seen his work and I've just been kind of lazy. I also have some 6.75 speakers chilling in the house I have yet to install. Maybe after Christmas. Man I am lazy

This is fairly normal. The xD is a cheap car with in general a fairly weak sound system. Did you set your correct vehicle type? Also press and hold SSP and you'll get a secret menu where you select your car type (xB, xD, tC). yes it does matter. If you're still unhappy, think about upgrading your head unit and/or adding an under-seat sub. There's a thread here somewhere that outlines the process very well under Interior.

it's available on amazon.com, and is an 8-inch or 10-inch under seat flat sub.
here's the links...

10 inch:

8 inch:

they won't give you boom boom shake the house of the neighbor's place, but they will give you a deeper enhancement of the lows. and that i know someone has attested to for installing the 10 inch into the xD under the passenger seat.
