Default Passenger Control Arm Bolt Spinning

I have researched this ad nauseam and cant seem to find what I need, so I have made an account and I come seeking the wisdom of the forums.

I have a 2012 xD and I'm trying to replace the passenger side control arm. Everything is going fine until I tried to get the vertical bolt out of the frame, where whatever the bolt is threaded into prompty detached and started spinning. So my question is this, how the hell do I access whatever broke loose so I can get this control arm off and address that?

I was told to cut into the frame but I suspect thats a terrible idea, and I didnt want to pay someone 6 grand to destroy my car for no reason.

I was measuring where the bolt would be from the inside of the cab with a tape measure and It really seems like there should be access near the firewall, floor area towards the center right of the passenger side.

Is there a tutorial or a exploded diagram that can confirm this before I start taking the interior apart? And has this happened to anyone here? How did you end up solving it?

Picture would help a ton...can't even imagine what you're talking about as I don't know how a control arm would have a vertical bolt.
