Scion xD ABS and Brake Dash Lights
 

Today the ABS and Brake Light came on on my 2008 xD suddenly. I stopped abruptly on a snowy road after this happened and the ABS is not working .

Is this resetable?

having the same issue. they will go off for a while, then back on. no ABS.

Is it safe to drive without the ABS working?

I have a 2008 Scion xD and also had the ABS light come on. It's a known issue that Toyota has with wheel speed sensors that are not designed to survive in northern climates where salt is used on the roads. The Yaris, which uses many common parts, has TSB-120-08 in regards to this problem. Mine has both rear wheel speed sensors that are bad and it's $1,500 dollars to replace them at the dealer. They also told me it's only covered if it happens in the 3/36,000 warranty period and they won't guarantee that the replacement parts will last any longer than the original parts.
