Default TC rims on xD, now I need tires

Can someone give me a correct fitment on a tire for TC rims on an xD? If you have first hand experience with these rims on your xD that'd be great. Also, any other info on putting the TC rims on my car, ie; things I should know, etc.

From what I've read, they're direct bolt ons.?.? Just want to make sure before I buy a set.

Appreciate any help.

Tire Size Comparison
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
195/60-16 4.6in 12.6in 25.2in 79.2in 800 0.0%
215/45-17 3.8in 12.3in 24.6in 77.3in 819 -2.4%
225/45-17 4.0in 12.5in 25.0in 78.5in 808 -1.0%

looks like 225/45-17 would be better.
not sure if 225 would fit on the rim ( most probably it would)

I went with 225/45/17 on mine and they fit fine. Also, make sure that you use the TC lugs that come with the TC rims and not the stock ones off your Xd. I read something a while back about the Xd lugs not fitting correctly on the TC rims or do damage to them in some way. Just a heads up.

This is correct. The xD comes factory with a style of Acorn Lug Nuts, where as the tC wheels use the style of flat surfaced lugs that most cars with factory alloys come with. You will need to find a set of the factory flat surface lugs.

What about 215/50/17? Calculator says its very close on the speedo. With TRD lowering springs, I'm just wondering about clearance issues. I DO NOT want to mess with rubbing tires, but if I can get a smidge taller sidewall maybe I can get a little more comfort and less road noise.

Yeah, the wheels I'm buying (picking up Friday) come with the TC lugs. Thanks for the heads up though.

im not really sure if the 225 will rub... probably not
but the 225/45 is closer to the original tire size.

215/45/R17's are what I have on my tC rims on my xD. See your other post for pics. They are a smidge noiser and I feel the bumps a bit more than the stock xD set. They're also grip the road waaaaaaaaaaaaay more than the stock xD set.

The tires are stock also, Bridgestone Turanza's. I've read here that lots of people believe they are crap but eh, they came with the rims. I'll wear them down then get a nice set, probably before this winter.

One man/womans opinion. I'm wearing mine out before I buy new and they're the stock 16's. Crap in my opinion, but I'm not made of money.

Thanks for the pics and info. I appreciate it!

I've have my 225/45's on mine with the TRD lower springs and haven't had it rub yet. I also felt like the ride improved once I put on the new rims & tires too. Seemed to feel less rough/bumpy to me.
