Has anyone installed TC wheels on their XD? And if you did, are they painted or powder coated? I'd like to see pics of XD's with TC wheels, of any variety.

I have a black XD, and I'm looking for ideas. I think they look good silver, but I'm thinking of maybe painting/powder bronze or black. I'm open to ideas.

Straight from the tC to my xD. Fully stock. Just need to lower it still. Probably wont happen until income tax time.

Are those the same TC tires? I'm thinking maybe going just a tad taller. What size are the TC tires? Looks good, and yes we both need to lower our rigs......

Honestly I'd have to look when its daylight but I'm guessing they are the 215/45/r17's

How do they sit in the wheel wells? Are they fairly flush, or would spacers help? Dark? oh yeah, your in PA, it's still sunny and light here in WA......Yeah, I said sunny

Here is a great thread https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=117853 that shows the stock tC rim painted numerous colors, almost every color you can think of...I know it's not on an xD but you will get an idea...Just like the PM I sent, I would paint them now if you are even thinking about it...It's much easier to do it now while waiting for your tires and this way you can take your time and do them right the first time...

And Jon remember what I said in my PM, get the 45 series sidewall, it is the perfect sidewall...Since the stock tC wheels are 17X7 I would go with with 215/45/17's...Then a medium drop, like the TRD's, since you said that you really don't want to go that low and that will be perfect...As far as offset, they are 45 offset which is a little high, but you can get some spacers (10mm or so) and they would sit more flush with the outside fender...Anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask...

P.S. I say go GOLD or BRONZE...

but at the end I sold them
and went back to originals lol

Yeah I was looking at those, lots of colorful wheels that's for sure. I was just hoping to find some on XD's and maybe even on a black one. I'm most likely going to wear out these tires for a while before I spend the money on new ones. But I will definitely lower it with or without the new tires/wheels. I'm waiting for a guy to get his new springs ......

Where can I get spacers for the wheels? And do I need to space front and rear?

What about 215/50/17? On the "calculator" they keep the speedo very close to stock.

Yup, I went and looked and mine are the 215/45/r17's. Yelosub is correct. They arent really flush, they'll need a little help for that. I'll try to post a pic. It was taken with my iPhone so not super quality.

I dont like how the tires on this set however dont seem to sit flush to the wheel. I wonder if it was an install problem? They just look wierd how they bulge out where the tire meets the rim.

Doesn't look much different than the stock wheels, and how they fit into the wells. I'm not seeing any bulging???? Thanks for the pics. Ya gotta love how easy the iPhone can take pics and load up to the computer. I love mine.

I usually just email the pics to my computer then load em from there. Very quick!

yea deres no flush. spacers should do some good if thats what your going for

See where the arrow points? The tires kind of go concave above that, then the lip of the tire where it should meet the rim flips out leaving another concave area between the tire and the rim. So the tires kind of dont meet up/match up with the rim well. I'm thinking it was a mount issue?

That's normal, depending on the construction of your sidewall. It actually helps with curb rash.

Really? Ha! Learn something new every day! And here I was being paranoid doing my daily mountain climb commute to work, taking the usual hairpin turns at 65 mph and wondering if the tires were going to pull off the rims because they werent seated well. Now I shall do 75 to work! Heh.

Take a look at others tires and wheels and you'll see, you're fine. But, be carefull
