TPMS range
Hi,
I'm new to the site, and have only had my '09 xD for a few months. I checked the manual for the answer, and did a search of forums, but didn't quite find what I'm after.
My tire pressure monitor seems to be working, but when I checked the tires today, they were all about 5-7 PSI below recommended. What is the operating window before the warning light comes on? I would have thought being that far off would have lit the warning.
Just curious, as I have another glitch requiring a dealer visit, so I thought I'd see if I should ask about that.
Thanks in advance.

On most vehicles the light won't come on until the tires are 20% below the stored set point. For the xD this would be in the range of 6-8 psig low depending on how accurate the dealer was when they set up the system. Cars are usually shipped with tires inflated to the "max pressure" on the sidewall. When the dealer receives the car they have to set the tires to the correct pressure then program the system.

yeah on some vehicles there all different. i work at toyota and I've seen some come on just a couple PSI below the recommended PSI and I've seen some come on when there 10PSI or more below recommended. this system meausres a lower threshold and it will measure for a variance in tires
