Default What are the differences between cat-back and rear section?

Does anyone know the difference between a cat-back exhaust and a rear section exhaust? I wanted to know which one produces more horsepower and which one, if either, messes with my cat converter. I was looking at either the Megan Racing cat-back or the Tanabe Concept G. Which one is better?

Catback is exactly what it says...from the cat (catalytic converter) all the way to the tip of the muffler, and a rear-section/axleback...is just the muffler and a little bit of piping. A catback will always show higher gains and neither mess with your cat...as for the choice...it's all in opinion...research and come to your own conclusion

Well here's a pic from when I had the Agency Power Cat-back install done,

And the rear section replaces exactly just that, getting rid of big heavy restrictive muffler that's turned sideways in the pic.

Dont worry about gains. You dont gain much from an exhaust. The difference between cat-back and axel-back isnt that great that it should affect your decision. Just find something thats visually and audibly appealing to you.
