Am I doing something wrong?
Your not doing anything wrong. Ptuning raised their prices after I bought the springs. The subtotal on my receipt was $200.95, so they have gone up by 32 bucks. You can try e-bay but beware of shipping costs!
Here's where I got mine, He raised his prices a bit though,
I only paid $209 including shipping.

So $233 might not be a bad price if it's all you can find.

Because of my rear rim offsets (18x9 et20), my fenders were literally eating away my tires even after having my fenders pulled/flared. Also, it's pretty annoying driving around with DFs and a 5 Axis kit. It's do-able, but it's annoying. Basically, I prefer the NFs now because they're just so much more practical.
Has anyone ever dropped a box with 20" rims ?. I have an Xb on 20"s and want to drop it. I have 2.5" of clearance in the front and 3.5" in the back. My car does not rub on any hard turn or on regular rides even on freeway. Someone posted the S-tech offer a drop of 1.7 and others say its only 1.25.
Still on the OEM shocks with 37k miles driven since I put on the NF's. Rides & drives like the day the springs were installed.
I will say that it's a daily driver that sees about 80-90% freeway miles, so I don't work the shocks very hard.

I've been hesitant to drop my xB because I've heard that shocks should be replaced along with the spring.
This is the first car I've taken an interest in modding at all so I dont know what brands are quality - is tanabe one of the better brands?

Yes.
Tanabe, Tein, Eibach, Hotchkis and TRD are by far the most popular respected brands.
The harder you drive, the higher the probability of blowing out the shocks.

I dont drive very hard most of the time, so I think I should be ok.
The NF210s look like exactly the drop I wanted... I think I'll be ordering some soon.
How difficult is the install? I watched a few videos and the rear seemed simple enough, but the front seems pretty complicated. I'm pretty handy in the garage, but I'm no mechanic. I can change my own oil, took off the front bumper on the xB a few days ago to install some LEDs without a problem.

It's not difficult, it just requires the right tools, including a set of spring compressors, and some patience. I'm sure you can find another Scion enthusiast in the Sacto area that has done it before and will help you out for some pizza and beer.
That being said, I was lazy and paid an expert at a shop $150 to do the whole install in a little over an hour.

I did the install using a guide posted here. First time I've ever installed springs, so it took me a little while. The rear was super easy, can be done in 15 minutes. I had some problems on the passenger side in the front, the axle came out of its socket...freaked me out a bit. With some help (and a prayer) I managed to get it back in. Overall the install took me about 4 hours. Overall very satisfied with the drop...just what I wanted.

I was on stock springs for 6k miles, and have been riding on the NF's for the last 38k miles. I saw absolutely no change in mpg with the drop.
Now changing tires & wheels, that's a whole different story. I've seen a huge drop in city mpg; the more stop & go, the worse the mileage.

Well now that I got that question answered...
I just got my wheels and I'm planning on sticking wit the stock tire size...I know that the box def looks better dropped w/ the stock size wheels. \
The roads in Houston sucks, especially in the city- i've seen way too many dropped cars eat it on these crappy roads.
Maybe I'll just go with a lip kit instead...sigh...
