HID headlights
Hello, I am new to the forum and new to the world of HIDs. I just obtained a 2014 Scion tC series this month and would like to upgrade my headlights to 5000k HIDs.
These are the lights I am interested in: 9012: Single Beam: Full Xenon HID Conversion Kit: HID Headlights Kits - Xenon HID Conversion Kits - FREE Shipping & Lifetime Warranty | XenonPro.com
Just curious on thoughts about the company and if they will fit via drop in. My last question is about the bulb size. I have seen some threads mention 9006 and others mention 9012.
Are these the same and does it not matter. I already have had led blinker issues and would appreciate feedback. My plan is to order the lights some time within the next two weeks.
Thanks in advance

if you are buying the whole set, head lights, HID lights, for the headlights, you need to consider that the stock plug ins, and the conversion to the new HID lights, everything my son bought, was what was need to convert over to the new ones, connections, everything, just had to remove old stock head lights, install new ones and install and connect, only thing is that you may have to realign the height of the lights.

After a long wait I finally was able to install my 5k DDM tuning HID's. Very unhappy with the quality and the shipping time. Not only that but the ballast does not fit directly in to my 2016 tC.
Returning and probably looking into getting LED's as they do not require a warm up time.

I dont know if you'll be completely happy with your HIDs unless you do a retrofit. I retrofitted my head lights with lexus projectors, which changes your bulbs to d2 instead of 9006. I also changed the lens to clear lens.
The problem with the stock headlights is that it wasnt meant for HID's and the stock lens shoots light from all sorts of directions instead of giving you a sharp clean beam. LEDs can be bright but i hear they dont project as far as HIDs unless you're willing to pay for the good stuff.
As for the ballast issue. Where do you want them to go? Just find a nice little spot away from moving components and zip tie them down.
i run 2 sets Kensun HID kit + 2 wiring harness for my fogs and headlights

Old post, but in case this helps someone else, the 2014 tC has a bi-xenon style headlight projector, meaning it has a little motor inside it that moves the cutoff when engaging the high beams. So you only need a low beam 9006 kit. Even though the stock size is 9012, you want 9006 with an HID kit, as the ground wire is in the wrong place on the 9012 and creates a beam shadow. I've been very happy with my Morimoto kit and have run them for years.
Retrofits are great, and I have done them on previous vehicles, but I don't personally see the tC2 as a vehicle that needs new projectors in the low beams (but the iJDMToy fog light projectors are a great mod over the stock reflector housings, especially for HID). The stock low beams are very adequate with a quality HID kit and throw the light fairly evenly without glare to oncoming drivers. Yes, a retrofit would be better, but I suspect 98% of tC drivers will be just fine with the stock projectors, with no danger to oncoming traffic provided their kit is properly installed and beams are aligned.
