Default 2005 xB wont start after accident

I just bought a 2005 xB from a tow yard. It has front end damage from the collision.

The damage from the impact is right on the center of the front bumper.

The damage is like this: Bumper cover pushed into the steel bumper>pushed into the A/C condenser>pushed into the radiator>pushed into the cooling fan.

So far, that's all I know just from eyeballing the damage. The hood, upper grill, headlights, hood latch, top radiator support, lower radiator support are all fine. The air bags deployed but the windshield is not broken.

This is the first Scion (Toyota) that I have owned.....so I don't know too much about the electronic systems on these vehicles.

When I turn the key to the ON position, everything lights up as normal.
When I turn the key to the START position....the starter does NOT spin the engine. The starter does nothing. Can't even hear the starters solenoid click. I have tried turning and holding the key in the start position while moving the shifter thru the gear positions and still the same, nothing happens.

As I slide the shifter thru the gears, I can hear a relay click when moving the shift lever into PARK and NEUTRAL......so I'm guessing the "shift range" mechanism is still aligned properly with the P and N shifter position.

Where is the starter located at on these engines?

One other thing I forgot to mention is that when the key is in the ON position, all the dash lights come on like any normal vehicle........but when I turn the key to the START position, the lights do not dim at all. They stay the same level of brightness as if the starter was not even installed on the vehicle (as in no amperage current is being drawn out in an attempt to spin the starter. I think tomorrow I am going to "hot wire" the starter to try to get it to spin the engine.
I'm kinda hoping that the starter is in front of the engine and the solenoid wire(s) have been severed......easy fix.

Also, when I turn the key, I don't hear the fuel pump priming.

Well, I got it figured out:

After removing all the damaged pieces, I saw that the starter solenoid was broken off the starter case. I replaced the starter/solenoid ($100 @ Autozone) and the xB starts and runs fine. I also replaced the radiator ($116 @ Autozone).

Next on the list of replacement parts is the A/C condensor (and then get the a/c to blow cold air.

Still need:
Airbags
front seat belt retractor (x2)
Front bumper
Front bumper cover
Lower rear bumper valance
Rear window washer nozzle

Installed Pioneer bluetooth CDusb/aux/Radio deck
Installed Alpine speakers up front and rear
Put on aluminum rims and new tires
Got front end alignment
Replaced front brake pads
Replaced timing belt

........so far, pretty cool ride.

.....got all the windows tinted
Passed state emissions inspection
Got valid DMV April 2017 registration
Full coverage insurance for me on the xB is only $55 per month
Installed rear spoiler above back window

Looking for JL Audio "down-firing" subwoofer box either 1x12 or 2x10

Best gas mileage vehicle I have ever owned.

I replaced the engine in my buddy's 2005 Nissan Altima.......he works at a HUGE new car dealership......he is the Manager of the Detail Shop over there.....for me installing his Nissan engine, he is detailing 6 cars for me. Dealership charges $450 per Full Detail Service. Looks like the xB will be getting a full detail next week after the xB I have a convertible G6 GTP, a gas guzzling 1996 Impala SS, a 2003 Jetta vr6 and Old Faithful=My 1989 Chevy truck which looks like it has been to hell and back (many times).

Default Wrecked xB gremlins

Hi.
Just picked up an '06 5 speed also wrecked in the front. Hit a little harder than yours as it needs all front sheetmetal, etc.
Weird thing is it starts even though the intake is broken, but only the one good headlight comes on. No radio, dash lights, tail lights, brake lights, fan motor, turn signals, wipers, not even door locks and windows are working.

Any ideas??
