Default Replacing Oil Pan?

Hi there!

The drain plug on my 2008 Scion xB oil pan has started leaking, to the point of needing to change the entire oil pan.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to DIY this project?

It seems relatively easy, I just want to make sure that I'm not taking on more than I can chew.

There are kits to do a thread repair,
Google this -->oil drain plug repair kit
but the kit costs more than a new sump and gasket from Rockauto.

2009 Scion xB 2.4L L4 Oil Pan | RockAuto

The cheapest solution may be to get Jiffy lube to do the fix - as they screw them up all the time and can probably do it with an oil change.

It should be an easy remove/replace unless the exhaust runs under it!!!

Default So, how'd it go?

I'm curious how you ended up taking care of this. I'm currently dealing with stripped threads on my oil pan.
