Default Any way to Increase Power in the 2AR-FE motor? (Please read the description)

I've had my tC for a while now, but right away I realized that there was a narrow aftermarket. I don't want to hear "get a new car" or "give up" or "engine swap" or any of that.
I really just need information on what else can be done to the engine to increase hp/torque without having to install a Turbo.

Any information on any hard-to-find parts or articles giving information about this kind of stuff would be very helpful.

I mean... there are ways to make it more enjoyable to drive but they don't make it super fast.

Intake, header, exhaust, crank pulley & tune are mostly what we have to work with for power adders. Can add a good 40whp in total with the tune but you'll pay for it.

I don't mod N/A cars for power, I mod them to make them better to drive. New suspension & tires go a long way in regards to ride comfort and handling capabilities. Less speed lost during cornering = faster. Intake will make it shift smoother and 2nd gear less pathetic and the lightweight crank pulley will make the power band not flatten out as much after 4k rpm. If you're MTX, a short shifter is a great way to reduce your 0-60 times by making the shifts closer together without 'adding power'. Lot's of things you can do to make the car 'faster' without adding a ton of power, but don't expect to pick up huge gains without going FI.

This is a great article about the 2AR: Toyota 2AR Engine | Turbo, specs, oil capacity, problems

Just go for the turbo, you won't regret it

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread. Anyone interested in upgrading their 2-AR should check out Frankenstein Motorworks on Youtube.
Here he is making 240whp with cams, 1-AR crankshaft, ECU, and Custom Exhaust:

His use of the 2AR-FXE intake cam on both the intake and exhaust side for an "OEM" hot cam is a really intriguing idea! Unfortunately you are forced to go aftermarket ECU with that route because of cam position sensor weirdness.

I am currently looking at a 93 tuned ECU from SNP Reflash, should give around 15-20whp gains according to the dyno sheets he posted. Raises the rev limit to 6800 too. If this holds up it's probably the best choice for a tune now that the orangevirus tuner is gone.
